Really had high hopes. First time visit. Very cool little pub. We were greeted promptly for our drinks, great first impression so far. Ordered an appetizer of she crab soup and our meal at the same time. Hind sight, should have known better than to order this together. The meal came out first. I told the young lady waiting on us that I ordered the soup and would like the appetizer first. She took the meal back and came with the soup. On a positive, the soup is very good. Almost immediately after getting the soup, another served attempted to deliver the meal again. Said I'd prefer to finish my appetizer first and have the meal fresh following. Instead it simple sat on the serving counter in plain view. At this point, I knew things were not good. We finished the soup and a short time later the same meal that was sitting on the counter for 20 minutes was brought to the table. I asked, as if i didn't know, if this was hot or cold. The server's response was that they kept it warm for us. There were no heat lamps on the counter. I simply put the back of my hand on the fries and found them cold. At this time the server announced that she felt it and it was still warm. Then asked what we wanted her to do. I told her that a hot meal would be appreciated. Now she proceeded to tell me that is was my choice to have her take the meal away. The same meal that came before the appetizer. She went on to tell me that they simply can't redo the meal unless I want to pay for both. Before I could make another comment, she said she'll just bring me my check. The check was only for the soup which means they still discarded the meal. Contradictory thought process. At this point the expense to the business is the same. The only difference is that, at this point, it becase apparent that the server was more about spite than customer service. I let it go, and paid cash and only rounding to the next dollar. I'm a heavy tipper when service is good, but this was worse than bad. I left the cash on the table and preceeded to leave. The server, from the table, asked me from across the room if I would like my change. Wow..
Had high hopes of finding a little home town pub with good food as I'm new to the area. The food I had was very good but the staff destroyed it. ...
Read moreWent to this for the first time and they seem highly under-staffed. There was only one waitress who was struggling to keep up with all the tables. Despite this she maintained a positive attitude.
But due to the amount of work that was required of her it was impossible for truly good service. Therefore we left the minimum tip, and felt guilty because it wasn’t her fault. I suppose someone else decided not to show up that day or something.
Appetizers are supposed to come early or fast and always before the main course, but unfortunately ours didn’t get to our table until the exact time as the rest of the food. It was also an extraordinarily long wait to get food at all.
Place is very crowded, loud and extremely noisy. Would not recommend to those that get overstimulated easily like those with autism and/or on the spectrum etc. I was having these issues with the loudness of the place and amount of activity of so many people. We went right at dinner time around 5-5:30 no later than six in the evening.
The waitress used the same rag without sanitizing it for multiple tables, I witnessed three being wiped down back to back and I’m sure there was more. I don’t know what it was wet with but appeared to be water for the table did not look properly disinfected/cleaned once we sat down.
However I did like the waitress’s attitude, she was very positive and upbeat and loved the huge glasses of sweet tea we got. Reminded me of a German beer Stein, or a common mug in Germany.
We only came here because the German restaurant right across the street said reservations only otherwise there would be a long two hour wait.
We still had a good time, food was okay, but overpriced. Was good to get out of the house. Masks were not required which was nice. (As of August 30, 2021)
They do have a seating area for dine in and also a small outside dine in tables. There is a bar right by the dine in with another waitress maintaining the bar. But only one waitress was doing both the in and outside dine in.
I would recommend this for those that want to get liquored up or enjoy a beer and a meal. Since I was coming with a family for family meal it was not an ideal...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Baron’s since I moved to olde Towne. I am a regular every Wednesday and I’ve had an amazing experience but tonight I had a bartender named Reagan, who is the rudest most inconsiderate and incompetent server I have ever had in my life. to start with she bad mouthed the normal bartender for having child issues and her having to work, then got my drink order wrong, which was just a Yuengling beer and handed it to me as if I was the idiot. She passed it off to the patron next me who had no idea why she was giving him a large draft beer. He was drinking a different bottled beer and shots. (he never drank it, sat on the bar til I left) I ordered a burger which she never entered because when I ordered another burger about 15 min later for my daughter who was going to arrive shortly, the other server was surprised when I asked when my meal was going to arrive. So Mia the only good server this evening put both our orders in together. Then Reagan decided to approach me again while engaged in conversation with another customer, and tried to degrade my intelligence, my manhood and the military profession in front of the entire bar. Everyone at the bar was appalled at her behavior, but too scared to say anything because she was still serving them. Kudos to the kitchen staff and Mia the one good bartender tonight for holding it together but I may never return to this establishment because of her behavior. Completely unprofessional behavior from someone in the...
