On Friday 3/4/2025 between 8 and 9 pm I was having drinks with my friends from A play we had and I was trying to order drinks and get service the female that was serving along with a a guy named bellil, if that’s his name was working this night and as I tried ti order I noticed the female bartender this night ignoring me but serving my friends, I. No way shape or form did I know this bartender, as I kept asking her for service she had an attitude and would continue ignoring me for service. So, I was speaking directly to my friend because she noticed to and being nosey in a well noisy atmosphere, the bartender heard me talking about how she was acting towards me and then the bartender came over and said what she heard, not saying it on here because of policies, and picked my drink up and threw it in the trash can then told the other bartender not to serve me based off her own unprofessional actions in which she was giving the same actions to another gentleman at the bar that I saw as well. So, the heterosexual male bartender , when I asked for drinks this time said , I’m not serving you because the female bartender took it upon herself to force him to not serve me and and he did such. At no time did I do anything “thuggish” at all but the service was trash. Of course the female and male went and told just the juicy side of the story but not the whole story as I had witnessed to say otherwise, but they went and told the manager I called her something. Mind you I was talking to my friend and in a way that only patrons should talk in a bar with music, the female bartender ear hustled me from the cash register, ha, and then proceeded to later only say what would make her look good to her manager so she wouldn’t get in trouble. So the manager comes out and I tell her what actually happened, she then gave me another jack Daniel’s I would say, in recognition of the rudeness her employees exploited and assured me she would take care of it. For a minute the girl that was bartending wasn’t on the floor until she came back serving again, this is when she had an altercation with another gentleman across the bar, black brown skinned guy with a hat. After this , while the manager is serving me my drinks the rude unprofessional bartender comes back out and sticks her tongue at me as the people to my left saw her do it in an attempt to provoke me to unfortunately be like her but I remained cool about it and carried the night on with laughs accordingly because some people just don’t have good lives obviously. Me and my friends enjoyed it as well and I think the same bartender also had the dj not to call me up for karaoke as well. Obviously, this is an on going problem But the managers or owners are so pressed to not fire or reprimand their employees and let them act like kids in a place of business. There should be no way employees should at alike that. For the record I had no verbal contact with this girl afterwards but she made it very clear to antagonize me more after the fact. You as a company, if you actually care, should have the best of the best employees because inexperienced people in life itself shows clearly in your establishment. This night it was only two employees mainly on the floor that night so the names shouldn’t be hard to find. The manager was a black woman that night that came up to talk to me. The bartender that was heterosexual had a low haircut and the female one had a black hat on with white writing on it. And to be clear, based off of defamation of character, not one time did i address the girl bartender in anyway at all besides ‘trying’ to order my drinks, I never talked to her directly other than that, as I stated , she clearly has issues to be ear hustling from 4 ft away with music playing while I’m talking to my friend to come over and pick my drink up and throw it in the trash, on camera which all of this was on. At best, probably not going to happen due to lack of discipline both employees should be fired. Teach your workers adult...
Read moreToday was my first ever visit to Roger Brown's. They have a good size stage and live music sometimes. However, we were there on a Wednesday around 5:00 p.m. which is not a time we're live music was supposed to be happening. There was someone there doing a sound check, which one was a little annoying, but not terrible. I did notice they have huge TV screen, which seems like it would be for great for sports events.
There were seven people in our party, several of which were disabled. Our waitress, Ava, was patient and attentive. Several of us ordered the she crab soup, which was delicious. It had plenty of crab. It was different than other she crab soups I have had at other restaurants due to the addition of vegetables, like carrots and celery. They were diced pretty fine for the most part and just gave some added texture. I did enjoy the experience, and I would order it again. I also ordered the harvest salad. I eat low low-carb and I figured the salad was going to be a struggle because it was topped with apples, candied Pecans, and craisins. In an effort to reduce my carb count, I asked them to remove the apples. When I received in my salad, it was completely covered in pecans and craisins. I picked off quite a few pecans and enjoyed a significantly higher carb salad that I have planned. The ranch tasted all homemade, and the cheese was flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed my extra carbs.
The birthday girl ordered steak, which she said was cooked perfectly, but that it was gristley. We decided it was just a lower grade of meat. She does not like macaroni and cheese that has messy sauce, and she enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. It was cheesy without the sauce being runny and drippy. She did not specifically comment on the collard greens, so I assume they were okay.
Several people got the $5 happy hour boneless wing special. They enjoyed the wings, which were bigger than expected.
The birthday girl went there specifically because she wanted the bread pudding. She actually tried to order it first, before ordering her steak, but she was told that they were out of bread pudding. She and another friend were extremely disappointed. I've been pointed out to the waitress that it was her birthday and she really wanted bread pudding. Shortly after that, our waitress came back and said that they would make bread puddings for the table three people ordered it, and all I enjoyed. Apparently it has bourbon sauce and caramel sauce along with whipped cream. Usually it has cherries on top, but today there weren't any. We truly appreciate that the waitress went the extra mile to make the birthday girl happy.
One small thing that went wrong todd made it a four-star experience. A person in our party ordered nachos. Her daughter said no jalapenos on the nachos multiple times, but they came out with jalapenos. When we told them that it was a problem, if the nachos were taken back. Instead of making new nachos, they just took the jalapenos off fortunately, the person who ordered them are was full from the soup and could not eat them. When her daughter ate them, she came into contact with remnants of jalapeno or jalapeno juice. If her mother had actually eaten those, she would have been sick. That is not a good practice in my book you don't know why somebody is requesting not to have certain items.
Overall, I would go back during a time when there is not live music. I'm just not a fan of that much noise. I felt like the prices were fair. The birthday girl and I had a total somewhere around $70. I was surprised that the gratuity was not added into the check already. I appreciate todd because I usually tip more than what gets automatically...
Read moreI am very upset! This establishment has to be by far the most unorganized place I have ever been. We are attending the Keke Wyatt show and we arrived and stood in line for 1.5 hrs. Mind you when purchasing tickets it stated to arrive early. And then they said we couldn’t go in until 9pm. And even then they still didn’t open the doors. When they did begin to let us in they were letting general admission and VIP in at the same time. It was a mess. We purchased General Admission tickets and on the ticket it said to arrive early because sitting was limited to the bar area and limited table seating. My fiancé and I were the 10th people in line and upon entering the “coordinator” as she claimed to be said to sit anywhere that didn’t have a reserved sign or name. And we did just that. We even asked two waitresses if the table we were at was reserved and they told us no. After us ordering food and drinks she (coordinator) comes and asked to see our ticket. We showed her our general admission tickets and she proceeds to tell us that we couldn’t sit there. So we reminded her what she told us and she lied and said she didn’t and called security on us. There is no reason why we would inconvenience ourselves to sit somewhere where we could potentially be asked to move from. Security even said that they’re saying that at the door to others as well so what did she want them to do about it. She also points in a direction saying that we could sit there (another table), so we grab our things and as we’re moving to that table she’s like no this is VIP too. After a few words were exchanged the owner I suppose came over and told us to go to the section behind the glass. And he instructed the waitress to grab our food and take us over there. We asked him is there sitting over there and he said YES. Get over there and there are no seats available. I knew a couple who paid VIP to sit by the stage and they never got their food or drinks. Majority of the people who sat in our area left without paying because it was a lack of service. Management was so caught up in trying to fix what they messed up from over seeing that they couldn’t see all the customers walking out without paying. Ohhhh and then the bouncers were taking money from people outside (stealing)!!! What kind of customer service and business is this??? We are professional people and dislike supporting businesses that aren’t organized and have people who do not know what they’re doing when running events. To think we considered having our engagement party here, smh. We will never support this business and will be spreading the word as well. This establishment clearly oversold this event. Waitress Bri was the only person in this establishment to make sure we were good. Thank you Bri.
Update as of 10/6/2024 - in the past month with hesitation I’ve visited this establishment twice and both times I left slightly impressed by the improvement in customer service from everyone. Last night was our waitress 21st birthday and because she was so sweet I bought her drink for after hrs to enjoy. I thought I would never step foot in this place but I’m happy that I have given them a...
