Arriving at 7pm, our group of four experienced a short wait at for dinner (only a few minutes). The atmosphere was what one would expect for a bar that serves food (much revelry), so this is not your place if you want a quiet retreat. Seating was a bit packed, but not too bad. The server (Aidan) was very friendly and helpful. He patiently answered all our questions, took our orders, and the drinks arrived in a few minutes. My old fashioned was excellent, and not the typical watered-down version I often experience. I chose the Hog Boss and fries ($18) for dinner. Fries were perfectly cooked, hot and crisp. The Hog Boss is a burger with a generous 6 oz beef patty piled high with pulled pork, thick smoked bacon, American cheese, BBQ sauce, and sriracha mayo. The melt in your mouth combo was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten - be sure to come with a good appetite if your order this one!

Went for lunch last Friday around 2pm. It was busy but well staffed. The placed cleared out by 2:30 The staff was friendly and nice but forgot to take our order after the chips and dip was served. We had to keep asking for our waitress. We did get to order finally. No water refills had to keep asking for that. I ordered the fish tacos grilled. It really was disappointing. Good in size but it was all cabbage slaw in a chipotle mixed with a ranch type of dressing that layered the bottom of the tortilla. There was a very tiny piece of fish about 1/2 inch thick and 2 inches by 2 inches… just one cube on top of each taco. So not worth 18 bucks. I picked the fish off and ate that but left the slaw taco. The Potato dippers weren’t too bad. It wouldn’t be my go to place. But looks like a fun Establishment.

On Friday, May 13, my wife and I plus another couple ate at Sawmill Grille for the first time. We were seated upstairs in the 99 Whiskey Lounge. It was an intimate and comfortable spot. The special cocktail drinks are pretty darn good as my wife ordered the Treaty Rock. I was especially adventurous and ordered a Bud Light bottle haha (my wife’s drink was really good though). I ordered the Sawmill Chicken sandwich and my wife ordered the TBR sandwich. The food presentation is awesome and the portions are large. My chicken sandwich was a little dry but my wife really enjoyed her sandwich. Alivia was our server and she did a fine job. Prices are decent, especially for the amount that you get. If the opportunity ever presents itself to return to the Sawmill Grille we will.

My first thoughts from the name was that it would be like a high quality steakhouse and was expecting something similar to Black Anges or Texas Road House. As I sat down with my family and gaze at the one-sided small menu before me my first thought were that the waitress just handed us the appetizer menu. I asked for the dinner menu and she said that was it! The menu had but a few choices and non looked appealing to crave my hunger as I had but 4 choices Soup, Salad, Sandwiches or Burgers. I asked the waitress if they had steaks or ribs and she said, "no sorry, what you see on the menu are your choices". So the closest thing that looked good was the Prime Rib Sandwich which I ordered with the mushroom soup. The sandwich came on a large metal tin sheet that they could have put 5 or 6 of these sandwiches on making it seem small and disappointing. I picked it up and the top was toasted but the bottom was soggy and my fingers smushed into it as I took a bite. The prime rib was tender and juicy but lacked any flavor. Cooked well but lacked any seasoning or sauce. I was thinking as I took bites that grilled onions and peppers would have probably added enough flavor to make the sandwich tasty. It wasn't and I was disappointed in my selection.

My wife got the special of the day, some spicy Korean chicken sandwich which the waitress said was like shredded chicken with the Korean sauce but was instead strips of chicken cut long ways with the grain making the chicken hard to eat on a sandwich because it would keep pulling out with each bite. Should have been rather shredded like the waitress claimed it would be or smaller chunks cut against the grain. The sauce was flavorful and tasty which made her sandwich better then mine because who wants to eat a flavorless meat, not this guy!

We both ordered the soup of the day which was the mushroom. It looked like a dark gravy but tasted good with a little added salt and pepper. It didn't look appealing though at fist sight.

Ok so those were our meals, your paying $14 for a small soggy sandwich and small bowl of soup or salad.

That brings me to my last comments on the salad because the salad that we ordered was great! It had fire roasted red peppers on it that added a bunch of delightful flavor. My only criticism was the dressing. I ordered blue cheese but it was thin and watery with no cheesy chunks in it. My first thoughts are that they order jars of dressing and water it down to make more of it. I could have drove over to Super One and grabbed a jar of Lighthouse Blue cheese and been happier. But the salad itself was great! Those peppers were grilled to perfection and would have been great on my sandwich as well.

The waitress said they would be changing their menu and adding stuff. I may give it another try then but as of now we don't want eat there again.

Now it's Thanksgiving and I am going to start my smoker and smoke our turkey for...

My 12 yr old & I go hear alot. Both of us love the food. Just great Burgers, French Fries are sooo good and real. Their Cod Tacos are great too. This is the one good place in Post Falls, I will keep going back to. I usually eat in. Their are times we take home and watch a movie. It's just good homestyle cooking. SO MUCH GOOD FOOD. Customer Service is really good too. There Ginger Beer, Margaritas's are excellent. They know how to make both. Sometimes you have alitte wait but it is worth it just because of all the above. I have been to many places in Post Falls & Kootenai County & this is CLEAN, well priced, family oriented, they know how to cook & how to make good drinks. I am adding to this message from 9 months ago. Sawmill Grille & Spirits has gone down the tubes, Waiters/Waitresses r excellent but the food & attitude of the Bar Tender was terrible 4 weeks ago. Waiter expressed anger at me as I wouldn't submit to his attitude & words. He lied more than several times to others & me. I expressed to him that he did; He got angry & said, I'm calling Police, get out of my Restaurant (an idiot). He also got upset with me because I wouldn't agree with him, as he stated it was all in my mind. Tacos were not cooked, cold. The one taco had cod in it that was cold. After this conversation he told me I was rude to Waiter; I wasn't. I gave waiter $5 & $2 to him for drink. I asked to speak to Owner. Then he yelled at me to get out with my 12yrs. Bartender got mad at me because I went to young Waiter & asked if I was rude, he said "no mam". Then I told waiter to go get his tip on table before it was taken. Not going their anymore; so sad. Should never treat your paying clients this way. By the way the prices have gone up 3 times in 2023, at least. My 2 tacos...

Food 3/5, Service 4/5, Atmosphere 4/5

The staff really tried, but it was a little bit of a rough night. Granted we were a larger party (14), but the server gave us snark about bringing us water only if we promised to drink it. We were asked if we wanted additional drinks multiple times even before finishing our first ones as if one drink apiece wasn't enough. They couldn't combine bills from separate servers so whole families could pay one bill which was odd, but fine, no big deal.

The food was overcooked, some orders not quite right, food took an hour to come out, but everything tasted pretty good. One burger had a hair in the cheese, was missing the onion rings, the cheese was the wrong type, and the burger itself was super dry and crumbly, but the sauce and bacon saved it. Another burger was missing everything, but the meat. The fries were good, seemed fresh and plentiful, but a bit soggy. All the wings were overcooked, but the sauces were tasty. Some wing orders weren't hot when we got them and others were steaming. The salads were the proper portion sizes and seemed fresh. The batter on the fish and chips was overkill. The fish tacos were decent. Portion sizes of everything were big.

The atmosphere was fun, chill, sports vibes. TVs were on playing basketball, but we could still hear each other talk if we were loud enough. You would most likely come here with friends and family 21+, but could also feel comfortable enough bringing kids. The restrooms were very clean, easily accessible, and 2 separate rooms rather...
