On April 29, 2022, I ate at the White House Grill for the first time. My wife and 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son comprised part of a 13-person party that gathered to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday. What a fun place to eat! We were seated at a long table in the back of the restaurant and had a really memorable time. First, the food. My wife ordered the Turkish Cigars as an appetizer and I have to be honest and say they weren’t really my cup of tea. I was hoping for a greater cheese balance than spinach balance but that is just the way things go. My hesitancy made my wife happy because it meant more Turkish Cigars for her. For my entrée I ordered the chicken burger. The large piece of tender, garlic-y chicken was in between a pretzel bun and was so good. I enjoyed the seasoned French fries and managed to eat every one. My wife ordered the Chicken Rome and let me tell you, that chicken breast was on point! Tasty and flavorful, I couldn’t let it go to waste after my wife stopped eating it simply because her stomach had reached capacity. I do have to point out that the pasta served with it was a little burnt with a spongy consistency. Perhaps best of all though was the curried chicken ravioli. I am a big curry fan and the White House ravioli does it justice. The menu describes the sauce as “rich” and that truly is the best way to describe it. It truly is a rich, flavorful dish. A children’s menu is offered and my daughter got spaghetti and my son got a grilled cheese sandwich. I want to now address the value. It is excellent. Portions are large and menu prices are low compared to what your average restaurant charges. It is a win-win! You can get appetizers for around $5, many entrees are priced in the $11-$13 range, and children’s menu options run in the $4.50-$6 range. You won’t feel ripped off or cheated here. You pay a pretty small price for a large amount of delicious food. Next you have the atmosphere. As I mentioned, the White House Grill is a fun place to eat. The restaurant layout is quirky with several different sections throughout the space. But no matter where you are in the place, that one-of-a-kind roasted strong garlic smell will delight your nose. Acoustics in the restaurant don’t offer a silent dining experience by any means but it isn’t too loud to have an audible, room-level conversation at your table. Lighting is dimmed and relaxed/romantic. All stimuli that you encounter within White House will aid in a pleasant experience. Last but not least, I want to commend the service. Kailie was our server and from the moment we sat down to when we left at the end of the night, she worked her tail off. She was kind and engaging with a smile on her face the whole time. She was easy to talk to and our large party’s order came out perfect. She rounded up her crew to sing “happy birthday” to my sister-in-law and she gladly served a cake that we brought from home. My wife and I ordered sodas and she was attentive to bring us refills whenever she noticed our glass getting low. We all genuinely appreciated Kailie’s effort. I strongly recommend the White House Grill as it delivers in all respects. I look forward to dining there again and suggesting it to friends.

Recently I made the unfortunate decision to visit the White House Grill for dinner. I made this choice after reading many positive reviews. I myself had driven by the restaurant growing up, and always wanted to try it. Upon being seated, I began to have doubts as the lighting and decor were in poor taste and the overall atmosphere was dingy and dark. We started with French onion soup, Fried Lamb meatballs and the Sarmisak dip. Of which the meatballs were burnt and the soup was tasteless. The baguettes that came with the dip were as hard as rock, thank goodness we asked for half pita bread. Things were not off to a good start. We then ordered the Mixed grill and Chicken Rome entrees. What we experienced as disappointment in the appetizers turned into disgust as our entrees were on another level of terrible. The shrimp in the mixed grill were as rubber, the lamb was dry and the fish was underwhelming. The Chicken Rome was so overcooked it was inedible. Both entrees came with a side of asparagus that was so drenched in oil and oversalted they were not fit for human consumption. At this point we hoped against hope that the dessert at least could perhaps save the night. Never were we so disappointed. What should have been the culmination of a good dinner was just another nail in the coffin of our experience. The baklava looked as if it was thrown onto the plate, the small square of pastry was not even centered on the dish, with crumbs and oil drops all over. The first bite revealed it be old, as oil was pooling around the base, and the top layer came off altogether when I tried to take a bite. It was stale. After making this attempt at a good night out we were wholly disheartened by our experience and our fallen hopes. This has been by far the worst restaurant experience I have endured in the Post Falls/CDA area. I will not be returning. I would also highly recommend anyone thinking of visiting this establishment not to waste their time or money.

Came here today. Place was packed. The waif of garlic filled the air. If you want to get on their waitlist, you need to be there in person. All the staff was nice. We decided on calamari and Sarmisak, the roasted garlic dip as appetizers. Both were delicious and as you can see we started eating the calamari and dip before I got the before picture. The calamari also had fried pieces of garlic as well. So good! Then the main dishes came. I got the deluxe gyro, filled with all the veggies. The pita bread was crunchy which I would have preferred a warmed softer pita bread with it. BF got the chicken rome which is basically like chicken parmesan but the tomato sauce is on the bottom. Everything was perfectly cooked. Juicy and flavorful. Green beans were cooked to perfection and the pasta had just the right amount of garlic. My BF's step mom got the chicken Istanbul. Great flavors that I have not tasted together before. Very flavorful even the rice. The veggies were al dente cooked but still had that bite. Next we shared Kadayif. It's a Turkish baklava basically. It's a walnut mixture on the bottom with shredded pastry on top baked to crunchy perfection and a dollop of cream before its served. Everything was full of flavor and garlic was part of every dish! Will for sure be back when in the area to try other dishes.

As regular patrons of the White House Restaurant, my party and I have been loyal customers, visiting once a month for the past two years since moving to North Idaho. However, our recent experience at the restaurant was unlike anything we had encountered before, and it has left us questioning whether we should ever return.

To begin with, despite our long-standing loyalty, the service we received on this particular visit was abysmal. Not only were four of us subjected to a staggering 90-minute delay in receiving our entrees, but the situation worsened when the other two members of our party of six didn't receive their meals until the rest of us had already finished ours (About 22 minutes after ours). To make matters even more frustrating, one of those two individuals received a dish that was astonishingly late and, to add insult to injury, completely burnt and over-charred. Consequently, this person had no choice but to send the meal back entirely and not eat as he is elderly and did not want to wait any longer for food that already took over two hours to be served. The restaurant manager, in response, removed it from the bill and tried to present it as a favor to us. However, it was far from a favor considering the dish's extremely late arrival and its inedible condition due to being burnt. It is unacceptable for such a locally reputable establishment to fail so drastically in fulfilling its basic responsibility of providing timely and complete meals.

Moreover, the timing of this disastrous evening was especially inconvenient for us. We are all working individuals, and one of our party members was a 7-year-old child who had school the following morning. With a reservation for 6:30, we had expected to be done dining by around 7:45. Unfortunately, we didn't leave the restaurant until approximately 8:40, leaving us deeply disappointed and inconvenienced.

The compensation we received for the numerous failures throughout the evening was underwhelming. We were only given a $50 gift card, which hardly made up for the excessive wait, missing meals, and overall poor experience. While we have never been ones to seek or anticipate compensation for a single negative dining experience, the extent of disappointment and frustration we encountered on this particular night was so significant that it warranted far greater compensation than what was offered. It was disheartening to see that the restaurant's response to our dissatisfaction was inadequate, especially considering our previous loyalty.

Adding to the ordeal, one of the individuals in our party was served their meal only as we were preparing to leave, leaving them with no choice but to resort to dining at Popeyes Chicken afterward. To make matters even more disappointing, the meal they received was marred by undercooked elements, particularly raw bell peppers, rendering it entirely unsatisfactory.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, as we have genuinely enjoyed dining at the White House Restaurant in the past. However, this recent experience has left us deeply disappointed and questioning whether we should continue our patronage. We sincerely hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and works to rectify the issues that plagued our evening, ensuring that such a disappointing experience is not repeated for...

I took my wife out for her birthday to this place and we where not only not disappointed but everything from the service to the food was amazing. Alina (hope I spelled her name right) was epic and was incredible to have for our first experience there. My wife is sure picky about any drinks that have alcohol and Alina make a great suggestion for the drink, my wife loved the drink. Alina never made us feel rushed and took care of everyone, never made anyone feel like they where an inconvenience, was super attentive to her area and even made sure that a couple at a different table was taken care of when they dropped their spoon. She was right there to deliver a new one and pick up the one that had fallen. The food itself was beyond amazing and it was so easy to take our time and not feel like we had to eat quickly. The flavors were incredible and savory. My wife had the chicken fettuccine and I had the lambshish kebab both were rich in flavor and very well balanced. And the way they did the birthday song was incredibly entertaining, as they did.The traditional song, but they added in a fun little drum, and they made it a celebration march, instead of just a oh, well, we're here. It is dimly lit and if you struggle to see in delight, it might be a little difficult to read the menu. However, the dim lighting worked really well for the atmosphere and provided a very relaxed and welcoming area. We were there for just under two hours and at no point, did the check, come during our meal or as we got our dessert. Alina made sure to bring us our check once we were partway through dinner and let us know. There was no rush, and this was at the hour and a half mark that we were there. I'd also like to know.It didn't take long for food to get there. But between the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the food, it was easy to just feel like we could stay there. And just hang out there was even people next to our table or a couple of friends that hadn't seen each other in a while. And even though it took them a while to make their order Alina never once rush them or made them feel like they had to make an order. Soon, she always let them know that it is okay to take their time as it is about them getting to enjoy their time there rather than turning and burning each. And every table. If you get to go to this restaurant, I highly recommend it.I give it a ten out of ten and I hope you get the same.If not better experience than we did great job to Alina for making this rememberable night for me and my wife on her birthday. You guys are awesome.Thank...
