Unfortunately, my experience here was not good. I ate here back in the years between 2010-2012 it was better then. I usually go to the Bremerton Los Casadores because I live on that side now. Currently, it’s closed due to remodel. Decided to drive out to Poulsbo and try this one for lunch. I thought the service could have been nicer, maybe off day for one of them. It seemed they were bothered my some customers and not others who maybe come in as a regular. The food prices are so much compared to other Mexican places that are not attached to a gas station. No lunch menu. Bremerton has one. No salsa bar. Bremerton has one. Supposed to be “pickled carrots” very bland, no season or oregano, they were watered down. I got the 4 taco plate it’s $10.99, loaded with too many white onions, and the chicken was bland tasted like chicken sitting in the fridge and reheat. Beans and rice are extra almost $6 bland as well no season. Then they are now charging you for chips and salsa $3.50. I didn’t see that coming, but should have when I didn’t see the salsa bar. I was brought my chips and maybe 2 to 3oz of salsa in a little white bowl. The food was sooo bland and no season. I had no choice to ask for green salsa for my tacos. Poured the little red salsa I had on my beans and rice to flavor those. I think I asked for red salsa two more times to have some for my chips and more to season my meal. I felt like they were policing the salsa that I paid for. The last time I asked for more she seemed aggravated, rushed over with just a plastic pitcher of salsa. Stared at me with it. I thought she would bring another bowl. I had all ready stacked them up nicely for easy cleaning purposes. I don’t mind reusing. It just seemed aggressive and let me check to see if you are wasting it or I didn’t want to come over and give you more. I am a Mexican food lover. I’ve eaten in a lot of different states. Please take my advice. The only good Mexican places in Kitsap County are Bremerton Los Casadores and Bremerton Los Cabo’s. I ate at Casa Luna in Poulsbo years ago. It was good then, but I’m not sure now. Just to give another Mexican place a shout out so it doesn’t seem I’m partial...
Read moreLove this place. Really good food, nice family owned place with good friendly service. One of the gems in Poulsbo where you can get good food at an affordable price. Many lunch specials are under $7 or $8. Chips and salsa are great, chips come out hot and seasoned and the salsa is full of flavor. There is a small salsa bar that is self-serve as well as the beverages so you can refill your own quickly. Free refills on horchata. Order and grab a seat while you can during busy hours.
Favorites are ceviche tostada, tacos, enchiladas, camarones diablo, and burritos. Calling ahead for to-go orders is recommended. Carne Asada and Carnitas plates are large portions for a fair price.
Just plan on visiting any day but Sunday as they are closed for a family day off. Many area regulars frequent this...
Read moreSo, it wasn’t the family favorite, but my SIL gets Tamales from here for the family EVERY Xmas eve... and we love them! So there’s that. A few weeks ago a friend was ordering from here to go and said they eat there almost weekly and love it, so the next day I ordered for pick up, got the man a steak burrito, son 2 steak tacos and me a fish taco and chicken tortilla soup (soup sounded good). I think it is probably better when you eat in... the soup was a little bland but once I added the salsa verde and red as well it gave it a kick I wanted... the taco was decent as well. The burrito was GINORMOUS, so my husband ate half of it and said it was good and we could share it next time. Ha Son didn’t care for the tacos, but he’s so picky... not their...
