Ty is a hidden gem in the Poulsbo area. I recently went with a friend to celebrate her, and we kicked things off with some sparkling wine. I was honestly blown away by how delicious it was, and the owner was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing details about the region it came from. We then moved on to a wine flight, tasting a few different selections, and I was impressed by how well-curated the options were.
The bar offers a variety of snacks, like cheese and crackers, and there's also the option to bring your own food, which is a nice touch. What really stood out to me was the cozy, homey feel of the place. There are so many unique seating areas to choose from — if you want to play games, there are tall tables next to a game board; if you prefer something more relaxed, there’s a couch area that feels like you’re sitting in someone’s living room, complete with a cute little fireplace. There are also traditional sit-down tables and bar seating with a gorgeous wooden top. It’s like stepping into different rooms of a house, each offering a different vibe, and it all feels so welcoming and inviting.
We ended up buying a few bottles of wine, and I took home a bottle from Uruguay. I’d never tried wine from there before, but it was absolutely stunning. I strongly recommend giving it a try!

Read moreTy's is a stylish bar just a quick 7-minute drive from downtown Poulsbo. If you're ready to escape the whole Viking and Norwegian scene for a bit, this modern spot is the perfect retreat, offering a delightful selection of wines from across the globe—and a great stash of board games. My friends and I had a blast here, enjoying the relaxed vibe and a surprising amount of the board game, Azul.
The owner was both friendly and a wine expert, helping us choose a fantastic Pinot Grigio that was a big hit with the group. One friend, who's not much of a wine drinker but more of a beer enthusiast, was thrilled to discover a hazy IPA with bright, citrusy notes that hit the spot.

Read moreToday, I decided to make the trek from Seattle to Poulsbo, because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t need an excuse to visit a charming little Norwegian town? But while the Viking vibes and Nordic-themed shops are cute and all, what they don’t tell you is that Poulsbo has a seriously awesome new, woman-owned wine bar called Ty’s. I love all of their selection, and I highly recommend others to check...
