Arctic Vanilla - $6
Similar to French vanilla but with a stronger taste. I use extremely strong bourbon vanilla.
Berry Battlefield - $6
Blueberry, blackberry and raspberry ice cream made with berries picked on the squeamish reservation by the squeamish people.
Dark Elf Delight - $6
Dark chocolate ice cream made with a blend of three different cocoas. This is by far my best seller and is actually the one selling pint ice cream of any brand at the Kingston Albertsons.
Mint Chip Avalanche - $6
Mint and tiny dark chocolate chips.
Rock Giant Pistachio - $6
This is one of the few pistachio ice creams that i know of that uses real pistachios instead of artificial flavorings.

I want so badly to like this ice cream since it's local, but I can truthfully say, it is the worst ice cream I have ever had. And I've had a lot of ice cream over the years. Everything about it tastes so cheap. Like they skimped on every ingredient to save money. I've had the Dark Elf and the Mint Chip Avalanche and both were so disappointing. The Mint Chip had all the consistency and flavor of a snowball. Like they avoided using any cream in it. It tasted like eating watery milk made into shave ice. Feels like false advertising to label it as ice cream. Not to mention the "avalanche" of chocolate chips the flavor was supposed to be "loaded" with were tiny and nearly nonexistent. And, as you can tell by their replies to low ratings, the owners are too immature to take criticism and instead of fixing their universally (have you ever seen ICE CREAM with only 3.6 stars) disliked product, they resort to bickering on Google reviews.

I got a couple pints from Safeway because I enjoyed the art and I wanted to buy local. However, this ice cream is terrible. It tastes like it's 90% ice. I got two different flavors, and each one had the same icy texture. The pints are also suspiciously light, weight-wise. This makes me think it isn't freezer burn, but a low quality product. Like other reviewers have said, there are barely any chocolate chips in the mint chip avalanche. I think this is the first time I've ever reviewed something I bought from a grocery store, but I had to google it and make sure I wasn't crazy / the only one having this experience. Update: I weighed one one of the pints to verify my 'light' comment. A pint of the mint chip weighs 9 oz (yes, I did eat a small spoonful, so 9.1 oz generously.) For comparison, a pint of Ben & Jerry's weighs 14-15oz. Not just my imagination.

Full disclosure, I have never physically been to, and/or seen this place of business, or interacted with any staff and/or owner.

Since there is no way to rate a product in a store, I figured it would be worth a shot to leave a review on the product via the businesses and/or the manufacturer.

Picked up a pint from safeway of pistachio flavor. It was disgusting. This left me thoroughly disappointed. It tastes like powdered milk that had been sitting on a counter in direct sunlight since 2008. There is no indication of pistachio besides the light green color and there is no smell either which is kind of weird...

On the flip side the texture is perfectly smooth and the artwork on the container is cool. Definitely an eye catcher.

Would i buy this again or try another flavor? No. Probably not.

Unfortunately there is no satisfaction guarantee. 6-7 dollars for a pint of ice cream down is a little expensive, and with the likelihood the next pint will share the same or similar experiences, I am opting not to send more money...

I recently picked up the Rock Giant Pistachio flavor ice cream from Safeway purely out of curiosity—and I’m so glad I did! It turned out to be an absolute delight. Despite coming across a few reviews claiming the texture was odd or not creamy enough, I personally found it just right.

What stood out most was the flavor—it’s not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. Instead, it has a subtle, natural sweetness that allows the rich, earthy taste of real pistachios to shine through. You can actually taste the pistachio, not just an artificial flavoring. That alone puts it a notch above many other pistachio ice creams I’ve tried.

Another thing I loved is how it feels lighter and somehow healthier than most store-bought options. It doesn’t leave that heavy, overly processed aftertaste. Overall, this was a pleasant surprise and has earned a spot in my freezer for...
