Eat Your Heart Out II — Restaurant in Poway

I came to Poway in April 2021. Visit from Indiana for a work thing. Found this place for lunch and fell in love with both the owners and the food.

Found out I was coming back and I was immediately excited about coming back just to eat lunch here. They swear they remember me from a year ago and the hospitality wouldn't tell me any differently. It's like he was my buddy and I was a daily regular. Kind man and his wife too. Got the #5 first day. Was amazing. Then he told me to get the #3. So next day I did. Blown away. "Next time you try #8". Not gonna doubt the man so I did. And that was the best one.

Listen, I travel all around the world for my job and this place is special. The world needs more people like them and more sammiches like this.

Seriously, I can't say enough great things about this place and even if I never make it back, it will always be a great memory and a golden place I'll remember forever.

Today was the first time we've eaten here. We met the delightful owners, Vill & Summer! They were very friendly and described their special of the day and their most popular sandwiches. Everything was fresh and tasted so good. My husband got a #3 corned beef and pastrami on sour dough and I chose a turkey on squaw bread. If you haven't had squaw bread, it is the BEST, definitely worth trying. We'll for sure go again. They've owned this deli for 27 years and after going there, you'll definitely know how they've stayed open this long with their tasty sandwiches and great...

You guys! PLEASE don’t sit on this place! It’s owned by the sweetest couple and their sandwiches are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and prices are great! We’ve been here a bunch of times and have yet to have a bad meal. We usually stop by when we’re already headed to Poway but this morning my husband and I were craving it so bad we drove down just to have a little breakfast date.
