Set off the street in a plain industrial park style area, the San Diego Volleyball Club is a large facility with 4 full courts, trampoline area, gymnastics spring floor, and weight training area.
We enrolled in a starter skills class for our 10yo girl. The class is about 25 girls and there is one main instructor with a handful of helper instructors. The instruction is fun, friendly, and focused on building basic ball handling skills for the girls. During our class the girls will run between all 4 courts, hitting, scooping up their ball, then running to the next station.
There is plenty of parking in front and around the building, although the white lines have long faded so I'm never sure if I'm parked right. The facility is clean, ample parent seating in various areas, a snack bar that is probably only open during tournements, and free WIFI. Bathrooms are large and clean. Each volleyball court is surrounded with netting so no stray balls.
Word from other parents is that the instructors will let us know when our girl has achieved enough skills to try out for the team.

Read moreStay away from this place, this is the worst volleyball club in southern California. They charge more than Coast and Wave volleyball club and their coaching is terrible. Most coaches do not have the experience or talent to coach and mentor kids, to name a few...coach Crystal, Shawn, AJ….the list goes on and on. Oh I forgot to mention another guy called Dave Stuart. He is the worst, he has a big chip on his shoulder, he rages and he behaves like a teenager. The condition of the facility is pathetic, no ventilation, no AC and no fan. This place is hot as hell during summer months. Bottomline, this place has terrible and senseless coaches and they just want your hard earned money.
Please think twice before you sign up your kids at this awful club. There are better clubs out there with way better coaches...
Read moreAs a parent of a child who grew up with this club. It is with great sadness I write this review.
My daughter has played and coached at this club for 14 years. The condition of this club is pathetic. SDVBC has been unable to move into the future as many of the other clubs have. The management/ owner has treated my daughter poorly in the past as a player and an employee. Now after she has moved on to a different club, employees are calling and harassing her accusing her of poaching players that have left. The club assumes no responsibility for the continuos exodus of talent instead they blame any coach who has ever left there My suggestion is they look within to how they can improve their product and stop blaming others for the decline of...
