We moved to the Presque Isle area a month ago. I usually don't eat Chinese food because of the horror stories I've heard of food poisoning. But, we were unpacking, tired from a three day drive to move here, and that's what my partner was craving. It was AMAZING! Hands down was the best Chinese food I have ever had. We get take out, once a week as a treat for the family. We picked Mai Tai 3 of the four weeks we had been here. We're moving in a couple weeks, so we picked Mai Tai to be our last take out meal for awhile. I happily sat down and started eating...and as I bit into a peice of my chicken...I saw it was pink. And sometimes the chicken does have a little bit of pink. With the sauce I expect that...but I cut it open and it was raw. Like pink pink. My whole family stopped eating and cut into their chicken....not one was fully cooked. I called to tell them, of course they offered to remake it again...but why would I want to eat it again after I just ate it raw!? We asked for a refund. It's been a week and we still have yet to get a refund. So, in conclusion, their food is great....when it's cooked. They are nice and always friendly. They deliver, which is rare here. Secondly, this is American Chinese food with yummy, crispy deep fried coatings, with sweet and sour chicken likely being a best seller. Portions are huge, hot and delicious. The wait service has always been fantastic. I can't say enough about the servers, and nobody makes the big bucks waiting tables in Maine, I'm pretty sure. So, if you want 'American Chinese food' and choose from one of their combo plates, I'm pretty sure you won't be...
Read moreIn my personal opinion, compared to three other Chinese restaurants here in Northern Maine, the Mai Tai Restaurant out beats the other three by far! The food is fresh, taste the way one expects chinese food to taste for here in America. I've compared it to being just like the Chinese food restaurants I was used to going to in Beverly, Salem and Gloucester Massachusetts. The Dragon light in Gloucester, I forget the name of the one in Beverly but the Waikiki Restaurant in Salem. So if you're familiar with Chinese food in Massachusetts and you're looking for that similar taste and style? The Mai Tai is the one to look for! Plus they have an eat in full Bar and a pool table for...
