Visit recommended Ferris BBQ couldn't have found a better home than Aroostook county. Popular for potatoes with a rich untamed beauty boasting vast forests and prestige lakes. This makes it a paradise for outdoor lovers. With ATV trails in the summer and snowmobile trails in the winter. In a small but unique community, Ferris BBQ stands out. As a foodie and a BBQ enthusiast I was impressed. The quality of food was top notch and you can tell that it was diligently prepared just by looking at it. It smelled great and tasted just like you would expect. They have a "99 acres" menu decently price with almost all the options on the menu. We didn't get it because my friends were scared of over eating.....not me. 😂 The wings are huge and they have a variety of in-house sauces to choose from. With each server that moved around, every dish looked like they were attending a ball. The bread pie dessert is still sitting somewhere in my head.. I didn't give a five star as I am stingy like that but it's worth the drive, time and money. Looking forward to my next visit Well done to the team at Ferris BBQ. 👍💯

We were greeted and sat promptly and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and astetics were very comfortable as well. I had a lb of ribs and mom had half a lb. We got cornbread, Mac n cheese, and coleslaw. So the coleslaw and Mac n cheese were good but nothing to rave about. The cornbread wasn't that great it seemed like maybe it was prepackaged and it was cold. Now the ribs had a nice smoke ring but while they looked good, had plenty of seasoning as well as being very tender they were lacking in smoke and quite bland to us. I will say this though we are from the south and both of us were in the restaurant business. We love BBQ and have had some of the best and while not very impressed with our first time here we will try it again for some other items and you should to. You may not be as picky as we southerners are. 😁

Everyone’s food was cold!! Sadly I Ordered WELL DONE steak tips & it came out still bloody & cold. I Was going to ask for it to be cooked a little longer but our server never came back. When She did come back (literally an hour later) she came back to ask if we wanted dessert.. I politely said no & asked for the check.. Out of everything the 2 other people at our table ordered we all ate maybe a few “dirty fries” & demolished the huge soft pretzel that we ordered as an appetizer. Definitely had high hopes for this place as all the reviews were great & was listed as 4.5 ⭐️ (The picture of the steak was after it had been sitting for over an hour so it doesn’t look as bloody as it actually was)

I, as a southerner (south of the Mason- Dixon line, not southern ME), love real, slow smoked BBQ, and this place fits the bill. Being a resident of Maine, for nearly 18 years now, I am happy to see Ferris BBQ open, and even happier that FBBQ can compete with authentic southern BBQ. I haven't had a brisket so juicy and tender in nearly 20 years. Their pulled pork, the same, juicy, and flavorful.

The baked beans, freaking delicious. If they sold it in quarts, I'd buy it for my family at home.

The corn bread is delicious too!

Good beer selections, from nasty domestics (like Coors to Bud Lite, etc.), to tasty micro brews (like Allagash, etc.).

The bourbon choices, off the chart! I had their FBBQ Old Fashioned, top notch. Nothing hokey, just a straight up, good old fashioned "Old Fashion" (other restaurants should take note of this - stop screwing with Old Fashions, they're called "old fashion" for a reason!!)

Anyway...

One con is their slaw. We (old school southerners) love slaw with BBQ, no doubt, but this slaw is a bit different, it has apples in it. Not horrible, but my taste buds were not prepared. Maybe it will grow on me.

One other con, FBBQ has a "North Carolina BBQ" sauce. Sorry to say, it is not. NC (where I was born and raised) does not have mustard based BBQ sauce. There are other sauces to choose from at FBBQ (like their Maple Bourbon BBQ sauce, YUM!), so you still have other options.

The amount of food you get is more than plenty. If you leave hungry, then you did something wrong. Plus, our food came to our table within 5 minutes, incredible!

To top it off, our waitress was fast, knowledgeable and courteous.

We will definitely be going back to Ferris...

First timer experience. The employees had good customer service and the atmosphere and menus are great. The issue is with the food. Here’s some feedback to help your business. Starting with the negatives to positives #1 issue all of the meats were dry. The pulled pork was the DRIEST pulled pork sandwich I have ever eaten in my life even after using 4* sauce cups.. if I wasn’t pregnant and trying to fulfill a craving I would have considered it almost inedible. I have eaten hundreds of pulled pork sandwiches and this by far was the driest one I have ever had which is super unfortunate. #2 Turkey also dry I still don’t understand how a bbq restaurant does not sell chicken but to cut cost I assume which I understand. #3 Mac and cheese is under seasoned if seasoned at all needs salt pepper and paprika. #4 French fries were soggy and old also a shame because I can tell they are fresh potatoes but tasted like they were under a warmer too long and soaked up grease. Positives.. #1 environment and staff are great. #2 The Sauces, pickles and pickled onions are to die for. I would buy jars of the pickled onions if they were jarred same goes for the sauces. #3 breads great.

Overall opinion.. bbq restaurant with great location and potential but need a new cook. I will not be revisiting unless told the sauces or pickled onions are being jarred. I really had high hopes and this was a huge disappointment you cannot have an overall successful bbq restaurant with dry meat, soggy fries...I really hope...
