Maple Pig Bar & Grill today for lunch- good thing we got there early- the line waiting for the door to unlock filled every table. I broke my own rule about waiting a few months to try a new restaurant, and it almost paid off. Service was fast and friendly- BUT, more about that later. Food was unique and full of imagination, but as we know, restaurants need time to take stock of the customer and kitchen complaints, in order to perfect the product. The app we ordered- corn ribs- was a few immature corncobs, quartered lengthwise and fried like fried pickle spears, and topped with maple and possibly bbq rub. Very interesting but the part closest to the cob was dry, tough, and inedible. Could have been great. The Aroostook County Tenderloin sandwich, however- a home run. Believe it or not, a thick slab of smoked gouda on a thicker slab of smoked bologna, covered in savory cole slaw on Texas toast was...fantastic! Everything worked together to make the most interesting sammie I've had in years. Hint: get the slaw on the side to control the heat and messiness of the sandwich. Pizza- The first brick oven in the county is also surely unique. The 16" homemade dough is the star- in the oven it becomes crispy chewy goodness. The toppings are first rate quality, and the sauce is bright to the point of being overpowering. You decide. My only complaint: an 8" pie would kill on the lunch and kids menu, but we were given an unlikely reason why they only serve one size pizza. Maybe they rethink the pizza sizes. Bread pudding was not as advertised but good nonetheless- salted caramel is REALLY good with maple. I promised to come back to why you stay away from a new restaurant until they work out the bugs- Maple Pig has worked them out too well. Our server was hover-y, moving us through the dishes with speed and purpose. I could be complaining about a slow kitchen and inattentive service, so I guess this is a good problem to have, BUT you have to let your guests enjoy the meal to score top honors. My 1st choice is still Ferris for BBQ and Maple Pig if you're getting a pizza. The next time I go, I'm getting both- the Carnivore pizza- with all the smoked meats on it! Can't wait...

I was a big fan of the Irish Setter and was so sad when it closed. I was ecstatic to hear a new restaurant was coming in! I went to the Maple Pig on the second day of being open, fully expecting some snafus. My party of 3 arrived around 4pm and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was full and there appeared to be one waiter for our whole side. She was friendly and informative and we got the wings as an app to split. We were going to order our mains as well but she did not stick around long enough to hear our order (granted, she was INCREDIBLY busy working the majority of tables on our side). We waited for the maple dry rub wings and they were 100% worth the wait!!! Amazing. Juicy. Flavorful. We got the Alabama white and the maple mustard for sauces and both were excellent. She took our order when the wings got brought out. Long story short, the pizza was large and very tasty. I’m glad to have a better pizza option in town! We ended up being there for over 2 hours but we expected this because it was so new. I cannot wait to go back! The decor was a lot but it’s clean and fun. The Maple Pig has given some cool nods on their menu to the Pub predecessor. I love that. I do wish the smokehouse menu was available all week and I’m hoping that as they’re open longer, this is something that changes. All in all, my visit was a great experience and I’m thrilled to have another solid place to go eat in PI! Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I decided to go to the Maple Pig on opening night and I am very glad we did! As expected, waiting to get in took a bit of time but it was not too bad for a new establishment packed to the brim on opening day. It surprisingly only took about thirty minutes from the time of putting in our name to being seated. Our server, Whitney, was nothing short of delightful and made sure to check on us regularly to see if we needed any refills or if she could do anything else for us. Our food came out in a timely manner and every bite was as good as the last. Do yourself a favor and get the wings and the Raspberry Chipotle sauce, it is a killer combination. Later, after desert, I had a chance to speak with one of the owners wives. She politely asked us how our experience was and if we had any feedback because they would greatly appreciate it. I stated “Maple Pig is everything and more I could want in a restaurant and other places in town are going to have a hard time keeping up with such a fantastic first experience.” A wave of relief and a huge smile formed on her face and I assured her we would be back very soon. *The only thing I would note as a negative is if you get a fountain soda and want to switch flavors that I was told I would be charged for the additional flavor. I can only assume this is to better keep inventory.

First off I’m thankful for this new venue - and wish you luck as you move forward and the little kinks get ironed out. I am not a big believer in “floating someone’s boat” just for the sake flattery. It is my hope when you seek input that you are sincere and looking to be as best as you can. That is my hope as well - for you. 👍❤️. The review: Party of three 7:30pm. The lady in our party arrived about 10 min before we did. She was told she couldn’t be seated until full party arrived. - understandable. However. When she asked if she could sit at the bar and have a glass of wine while she waited she was told no. Thus the hour long wait started (no big deal - new place/understood. When we were finally seated - in the far back left area, in a booth on the inside wall (behind the bar area - NOT an outside wall) - we could literally feel a BIG cold draft coming out of the wainscoting. All three of us were freezing. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Drinks were good. One appetizer was good (fried pork rinds) - but the cob ribs were tough (yes, the cob part prob not meant to be eaten - but who knew 🤷‍♂️…we were all surprised. One person ordered a Caesar salad with meat. It literally arrived at least 10 - 15 minutes before the other salad (chef salad added steak) and my sandwich. The chef salad had said “to add the steak to it, “x amount”. It should haves said to substitute steak - as when it arrived - it had no chicken or ham or eggs, or pretty much any other veggies other than the romaine/iceburg mix. honestly it was not a good salad as a meal. We ended our meal with the maple cheese cake and that was out of this world GOOOOD. So. This is my honest heart felt review that you asked for. It is my hope - that as a new business the little kinks get worked out and you have many many years of success ❤️❤️❤️ (I’m a firm believer of checking out other restaurants to see how they do things….. IF you ever get a chance to go to Cornish Maine…….check out Krista’s and get some ideas of “salads” ….. It was not my intention to bust any bubbles. I...

I tried going in to eat at this restaurant. When I went to the door there was a line trying to fit in a small entry way. After getting passed waiting customers I asked to be placed on their waiting list with my phone number which they said I will be called. A hour and half later I went in realizing that everyone else made it in with out a waiting . I seen their list I was on and three people coming in after me and everyone in front of me was crossed off except myself. I asked them if they forgot me and they assured me they didn't that's why an arrow was next to my name which didn't make sense to me. They told me it would be another 20 or more minutes. I guess I will never come try it out cause I left and gave up disappointed.. When I tried contacting the restaurant while waiting no one was answering the phone lines. When I tried contacting them on Facebook since phone was not a option I was told by who ever ran the fb page that I was rude and made someone cry and they never want me back again. I said I wasn't rude and they must have me mixed up with someone else. I tried asking someone else I know is officiated with the place if there are cameras cause I don't like being blamed for something I didn't do.. They said they do not have one that would show what was said but to try coming back again. I just didn't feel very welcomed after that ordeal. It didn't make me feel comfortable with them saying such things. . Ill just cook at home. I'm a good cook. Just was trying to support my local restaurants on a lazy day I actually had some funds on. I don't...
