Gabe’s is a gem as far as restaurants go ! Nabir, the owner is customer service with a smile - very friendly and a pretty fantastic cook / a trained chef to be honest ! His restaurant is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Great location to sit and relax to a great meal while watching the hustle and bustle of vehicles pass by. Pretty much my “ go to” whenever I’m in Princeton… I’ve had many of the items on the menu and am impressed every time ! I am stuck on his Authentic Philly Cheesesteak… So good that I rarely look back at the menus - yes two menus that cover a great many different foods. While most restaurants cannot do well with so many menu choices, Nabil is almost unbelievably exceptional. Quality is his forte, quantity abundant and price… well let me say that given the cost of fast food locations in close proximity ( that if you’ve used their drive thru’s, you probably know they are truly no longer fast…) with just a few extra minutes and very little more in price ! You can enjoy a quality meal. Dolly’s is a gem in Princeton and Gabr’s is right there as well. If you’ve never stopped at Gabe’s, try it. You will be impressed ! Dang… after writing this, I’ve got a craving for another Cheesesteak ! Have one there and usually bring one home! They are good sized - hope...
Read moreI kept seeing cars parked outside this new restaurant so I figured they must be doing something right, unfortunately that's not the case.
A co-worker and I went here for lunch and it took them over an hour to make a burger and a chicken sub. We waited so long that we took our meal to go (and so did the table next to us). This must be why there are cars always parked here, it's just people waiting forever for their food.
When I finally got to try the food I come to find that the burger patty is unseasoned, just a basic ground beef taste, something you'd expect to find at a "old greasy spoon" not a "Grill and Cafe".
Then I tried the fries, and they were an even bigger disappointment, they too were unseasoned, nothing more than a frozen bag of french fries tossed into a deep fryer.
With the open concept of this restaurant, you can watch the cooks, and they seem to be working hard, and one of the cooks had even apologized several times for the long wait. I felt sorry for them because the restaurant owner was standing beside them with her face glued to her iPhone, seemingly not giving a damn that several of her customers (not just us)...
Read moreWhat a great experience ~ we asked around downtown for a locally owned restaurant that has a wide variety of food, and Gabr's was recommended. The gentleman that took our order and made our wide variety of orders was very efficient and pleasant. I had the Buffalo chicken salad and some fried green tomatoes - really, really good! The salad was huge with a big variety of items, including a couple slices of pepperoni, olives, pepperoncinis, etc. One of my friends had a huge sub sandwich - she said her whole meal was really good, and the bread was warm with garlic on top. Way better than any place like Subway. My other friend had the manicotti and a side of fries. The manicotti was a very large portion, and the order of fries was huge. The fries were perfectly fried - crispy on the outside and soft in the middle - and not greasy at all. She said the manicotti was really good too. We loved it and will go back when we are in Princeton again. All the food is cooked to order and might be a bit of a wait if they are busy, but that was not our experience. We had our food within 10-15 minutes. All hot, fresh,...
