UPDATING REVIEW: Okay I said I'd stick with the food because it's wonderful, and I was still craving some onigiri and cake today so I ordered from here again. To my utter surprise, I received a new teddy bottle, filled with a delicious boba drink! And a lovely note as well. I in no way expected this, and they hadn't lost my business for the mixup with the drink, but this is such a wonderful gesture to make up for it that I had to immediately come here to change my review to 5 stars. Thank you very much!
Original review:
I've ordered delivery from here a few times and always love what I received. This time I finally decided to order what I thought was a drink in a cute bear bottle. The image on their website and in the DoorDash ordering system shows the bear bottle with a pink liquid drink in it. I figured it was probably strawberry or something similar, wanted to give it a try. There was no product description, as many of their items don't have descriptions. What I received was an empty bottle. It looks like it had a drink in it at some point, but was emptied and rinsed prior to putting in my order bag. The bag was untampered with so I know this wasn't done by the Dasher who delivered it. Either this shop intentionally misrepresented what the item was by having the image of a beverage, but no description - or they messed up my order. Either way I didn't pay almost $5 for an empty bottle 😂 Lesson learned, I'll stick to their sushi from...
Read moreUPDATE: I come here everytime I visit Princeton, which is about 3-4 times a year. This time, though, really takes the cake for worst experience. No patrons are in the establishment, and I am standing at the ordering counter. Lilly K is on the other side. No hello, no acknowledgement whatsoever. She's just standing there. I ask her, "Are you ready?" And her response is: "Oh, yeah, sorry." I give my order, and when it's ready, Lilly K just places it on the counter. Again, no acknowledgement, no "thank you," nothing--she just drops it and turns away like she has something better to do. Extremely rude. No wonder why this place is empty. The service sucks.
I arrived to Princeton late in the evening, and there weren't very many dining options open, so I decided to try out this place for something quick & easy to take back to the hotel. I didn't expect much from an ice cream/boba tea/sushi joint, which is a good thing. The sushi rolls were straightforward--not very creative, but the fish was good, but not the highest quality. The shu mai was definitely not house-made and not very good. This place is fine, and because the sushi is passable, I came here for a second time while I stayed in town because I knew it wasn't bad. But is that a...
Read moreI usually get a PokeBowl (probably the best poke on Nassau Street), but this time I tried out the Sashimi Platter. Where do I start...the plate was beautifully garinished with zuchinni noodles, salad, lemon wedges, and cucumbers. I was wondering why it took so long to cut 17 slices of fish but it was worth the wait; the chef carefully prepared a visually aesthetic dish. The platter comes with red tuna, white tuna, kani (crab), salmon, and yellowtail. In my previous experience with sashimi, all the fish tasted like avocado, but here you could pick up a different flavor from each of the 5 fishes; you could tell the fish was of great quality. There was ample soy sauce for dipping; I personally made a mixture of citrus miso sauce and sriracha which gave a nice flavor. Lots of wasabi and pickled ginger on the side. Paired with the miso soup, this platter is enough for 2, and will leave you feeling the right type of full. The main chef was very nice and eager to make the platter for me, he even threw in a complimentary salmon rice ball! Will definitely come back for more,...
