Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Providence

This place has a higher review than it should because every single time I have been to this place I either have to wait an extremely long time and even with placing my order on line and giving them extra time my order is never ready and when it is ready the workers trying to fight you to get your order and accuse you of stealing your own order and I will never understand how no matter long you wait for your order it is always cold and needs to be reheated just to travel less than a mile away and I have yet to ever have a good experience at this place and even when you give them a bad review with their app you never hear from anyone no matter how many times you say you would like to talk to someone about your experience I honestly think all of their reviews higher than a two are either from employees that currently work there and their friends because there is no way anyone is honestly giving this place more than a two if I could give this place less than a one star rating I would I am so disappointed because when the food is warm it good but when receiving food that is supposedly hot and fresh out the frier it shouldn’t need to be warmed after less than 10 minutes of receiving it I can only imagine how people feel when they order food for eat in that can’t...

just ordered from here for the first time. this is my honest opinion. Fried chicken SMACKSSS. one of the best fried chicken I have tried in providence. I mean Popeyes, kfc, and any other chicken spot in Providence don't have s**t on them. crispy golden skin, juicy flavor packed meat. it was amazing. I got 2 sides, 2 rolls, and 2 empanadas with my meal. my 2 sides were the corn salad and mashed potatoes. with all due respect they were horrible. the consistency of the mash was like tar and the flavor was terrible. they served it with gravy and it had a sort of cardboard taste To it. the corn salad also lacked seasoning and flavor. the empanadas were ok. the filling wasn't too bad and it was perfectly fried but compared to what you can get at any other Spanish spot its on the lower bar. Also I got 3 sauces there campero sauce, avocado ranch, and sweet chili and they were all amazing and really good. overall they fulfill with there name. the chicken is heavenly and I will defiantly be coming back for that. besides that you guys should do some R&D on the sides and see if there is a way to enhance the flavor and taste of them. One of the cleanest establishments I've been in. Fast food, sure, but it felt like family was serving you - coming from a güero. I cannot say enough about the staff. Seamlessly transitioning between english and spanish. Incredibly attentive. Ordered at the counter but food is brought out and they got us anything we needed. Better service than many sit down restaurants. Brought a toddler who got lots of love. A+++ experience. Did i mention how clean it was?

Now the food. I've heard from friends it's not as good as Guatemala, but it's damn sure better than KFC. I'm a sucker for Chick-Fil-A, but Chickie doesn't have the spice, beans, or tortillas. Give me a choice between this and any American joint, I choose this all day every day, maybe twice a day. Every cut of chicken was juicy and delicious. My toddler devoured the beans like a vacuum.
