Spice Valley Halal — Restaurant in Providence

I had called the store to place an order for a pickup. I have seen this place pop up on Ubereats and wanted to try the pizza but I was a bit hesitant for a while. I had ordered the Butter Chicken Pizza. When I went in to pick up the food I had a brief talk with the owner. He was a super cool guy. Very friendly and seemed passionate about what he was doing. I had gotten a Philly steak slice along with my Butter Chicken Pizza.

The Philly Steak Slice? It was great! The steak was seasoned very well and everything was well balanced. 8.5/10

I’ve gone here around 3 times during the summer—evidently enough for the owner and employees to remember my face. Charming and warm, they always welcome me with a smile and offer me a free slice of pizza (can’t guarantee that will happen for you!) while we talk about our lives.

The chicken/lamb over rice platters are incredible. The samosas are killer, but the real winner must be the butter chicken pizza--perfectly seasoned and cooked to a great consistency.

If you're looking for a local halal food in the Olneyville neighborhood, this should be your go-to over a long drive to Naz's. The Combo Platter was excellent, the meats were juicy and fresh, the rice fluffy and flavorful, and the sauces on par with whatever Naz's and The Halal Guys normally serve up with their plates. The butter chicken pizza was buttery as advertised, and the crust was soft and fluffy, with the option to cook well-done if you wanted crispy edges. They were also generous enough to upsize my small pizza to large, and honestly, dollar for dollar this place is also excellent value.
