Punta Cana Bistro — Restaurant in Providence

I went there when they first opened and they’re food was amazing! So good it tasted so authentic! So much flavor,all of my friends and I loved it. Went there every other wk. but as we continued to go the food seemed to taste different it wasn’t consistent to the first time we tried it. Not as good so we stopped going for awhile. It’s probably been almost 2 years we haven’t been here and decided to go last night.lets give it another try it’s been so long. We got there was greeted and seated. It was so dark I couldn’t even read my menu.way to dark they looked closed. I looked at the menu and it was totally different. Before we was planning on going there we checked out their menu online just to make sure if everything was still the same. But noooo, there was so much options and way too much going on. It didn’t seem authentic Dominican food anymore. It looked so Americanized.we got nervous after going through the menu and kinda second guess ourselves.you think our dishes will be good??? So we ordered; I ordered mofongo with steak and added shrimp. My friend ordered steak and shrimp with chimichurri sauce and mash.our 2 favorite dish we ordered when we first ordered our first time there. 30-40 minutes goes by and our entrees comes we both looked at it and instantly knew it wasn’t going to be good. My mofongo was so hard and dry I couldn’t even chew it. There was no sauce over my steak and shrimp and mofongo at all.i asked for extra sauce on the side they gave me chicken stock. My steak was over cooked and tough,my shrimp tasted like it was boiled instead of sautéed in garlic and butter. My whole dish tasted sooo bland. It was awful,it did not taste like Dominican food at all. It tasted like American food. Plain And bland. My friends entree looked even worse. You guys served her a big ole plate with barely anything on it. Tiny piece of steak that tasted burnt also boiled shrimp on top of the steak with a tiny side of mash. And the chimichurri sauce was gross it tasted like balsamic glaze mixed with herbs. Awful!! when we had your chimichurri sauce the first time it was AMAZING!!!! soooo good i always asked for extra and my steak was cooked perfectly with so much Dominican flavors.WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU GUYS?!?????? I missed the old short simple menu! And all of the rich Dominican flavors! Where did it go???? I’m sorry but I won’t...

to start, place is cute and they really try, but not enough space or staff to cater to customers. Understanding it's better of call ahead for a table, but oh well is one of those Saturday nights that you feel like trying something different for a change...At the door we waited about 10 min to be greeted, and it seemed was the owner, he was pleasant and told us that it will be a bit before he got us a table. We then placed the order, drinks and apps came quick, as for the main order it took over 1hr to come out, then my boyfriends' came 1st, mines 15 min later, but the people next to us who came way after us got their order 1st, "can't comprehend". by the time mines came he was done with his. The order was wrong and missing a portion of the dish, but I wasn't asked for any substitutes at all, then they took the order back and it was super salty.

I know the intentions were good, but i suggest to please exam your location, train better your staff and be more attentive with orders inclusive the kitchen staff, understanding they are on the line of "rush", but quality over quantity, although I must say that some dishes need to be evaluated portion wise (not too much for the cost). Running a food business is hard, but a plan is better...

I have been here 2 times both times they over charged me the first time i thought was a simple mistake the waitress charged me twice for my meal they refunded me in cash and so i went back yesterday not only did we wait over an hr and a half for our food i ordered a pina colada and my friend did as well neither had alcohol in it we ordered empanadas that never came out and i ordered chicharrones with mofungo the chicharrones were on my friends plate who did not order chicharrones (they also charged me for her meal that she really ordered) they decided to charge for everything that was ORDERED even after bringing it to their attention they wanted to argue that there was alcohol in the drinks- customers can see the bar how come nobody saw you touch one alcohol bottle? The people at the table next to us also said they didnt taste any alcohol in their drinks if you decide to visit this restaurant make sure you...
