DO NOT GET YOUR BEEF HERE!
I took so many photos trying to get the camera to see the PINK Hue on the beef and bread, which, if it was just the meat I could it pass off as a rare italian beef. However, it was like someone got pink frosting on and got all of it off, except the stain of it on the beef. SURPRISE! The pink hue is actually the red from the paper they wrap your beef in after having soaked in the juice on the way home. 😳 🤢🤮 Wow, well, I'm glad I picked off most of the meat and roll that had pink on them. I found a spot that had some juice on it and rubbed it rather lightly, and it quickly picked up the dye and faded the spot on the paper....
...All that aside, maybe the beef will be good aaaand it's ass. Rubbery beef sheets clustered to each other, reminiscent of frozen tub beef reheated. Juice was seasoned with a single fart of Italian seasoning for the tub clearly. The roll is the only redeemable component here since it was a Liborio Roll. I'm not going to finish this beef. This is actually worse than Beefee on North Ave.
Fries were shoestring 🙃 and also fresh cut, so they never had a chance to be crispy, unfortunately, except maybe if he tossed them into your mouth from the fryer.
The 2 saving graces here are that the price could be worse at $9.89 for a beef w/ fries and $1.99 for a drink added. And also that they have Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet RC (Diet Rite), and I feel like everyone has given up on carrying RC. Diet Rite, I don't know if I've ever seen carried in a Chicagoland spot.
The answer to some of these issues might just be to eat it in the store (standing only, 3 tables), but for some people, it isn't an option. For the dye, just use a different wrapper for everything since presumably anything greasy is gonna get coated if not eaten immediately.
I really hope they have something good on the menu because it smelled quite good inside, but smells can be deceiving.
1/5 if not for the bad beef, don't go so you aren't eating dye in the name...
Read moreUsually I would come here to grab the food for my family and everything usually goes fine. But this one time I come in to order the food for my grandma and she’ll usually say it over the phone and I’ll repeat it back to this one guy but he’s just staring at me like I’m crazy instead of taking the order as I kept repeating to him. I was trying to make sure I remember it so I go back out and have my mom send it to me through text and I’ll go back in and say it through text. After I did he gets mad and tell me what the heck is wrong with me so I get mad cuz of his bad attitude and walk out so my mom comes in and cuss him out about his horrible service and we both leave. People need to learn to have some patience cuz not...
Read moreThis place has been here for many years. I have very fond memories of Mickey's. I haven't been here in awhile. We were in the neighborhood and just had to stop. The food is still fabulous. I do have some concerns, the manner in which they "handled" customers food was very off putting. No gloves. Touching towels then food. One of the guys came from the back with a small sandwich roll completely cuffed in his hand while holding the cheese with his thumb. I think my face said it all because the guy helping my husband and I, washed his hands right in front of us. I'm sure they wash their hands but it sure didn't look good. Oh, by the way, for some reason they are real light with the mild sauce. It only covered...
