Mr. Submarine — Restaurant in Proviso Township

Mr. Submarine continues to serve up delicious, satisfying food that keeps me coming back. Their subs are consistently fresh, generously portioned, and packed with flavor. Whether I’m ordering a classic Italian, turkey and cheese, or a hot Philly steak, the bread is always soft and fresh, and the ingredients taste high quality. Their fries and sides also hit the spot — crispy, hot, and well-seasoned. It’s clear that the kitchen staff takes pride in preparing solid, reliable meals that deliver on taste every time.

However, the customer service could definitely use improvement. On several visits, I’ve experienced long wait times and a lack of attentiveness from the staff. Orders are sometimes taken with minimal communication or eye contact, and there’s often a sense of being rushed even when the store isn’t busy. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but it does make it feel less welcoming than it could be.

If I could rate this restaurant at a 0 star I would. It is not about the food it is about the attitude of the men working in there and their lack of customer service. They left me on hold for 20 minutes as I was trying to place an order but when I got to the store they were all Laughing and talking and joking around. There was only 2 other customers in the store and 2 in the drive-through line. I was told by the man at the cash register that they were too busy to answer my call and take my order. I was told that 20 minutes on the phone was my fault and I should order then. I will not give my money To an establishment that does not care about their customers. If the customers stop coming and purchasing then they will not be open . I will not spend my money there and I am going to their competition to pick up an order from an establishment that answered the phone, took my order and did not leave me on hold...

Good sandwiches/bread. Poor Customer service. I stop going because i would ALWAYS order extra lettuce and tomatoes and they would maybe a few times add it. My last time, i ordered a sandwich with no mayo, oil dressing, meat and cheese, They put mayo on it. I returned to the restaurant and they took the sandwich back placed it on the same counter fresh sandwiches were being made on and removed the meat as though i was not watching them and tried to put the same meat on another piece of bread. I asked why in front of other customers and please make me another sandwich. Taking a sandwich back and not throwing it directly into the garbage is a health hazard and they simply didn't care.
