First time here, and probably the last. My daughter was craving some pan Dulce and all our local ones were closed. We saw this place was open and decided to take our chances. We got 9 pieces of bread, and 3 of them were hard as a rock.
They did switch them out, but even then the flavor was not good. It tasted old, and rancid like it had been sitting out for days. Sad honestly because it looked good on the pictures. Oh, and when they switched them out, the lady working told me that it was normal for one of them to be hard, and she had me put it back where it it went with my own hands even after I told her I had already touched it. I did not think that was the right thing to do, but since I will never be going back I did what she told me, but maybe something to keep in mind when buying from there.
Lastly, we got home, and I taste everything I give my daughter, I got her two cookies, one with smiley and the other with white powder on top or polvoron what I call it, and that tasted like straight fabuloso.
That was when I decided to grab the whole bag and throw the whole thing out. $30 straight to the trash. Worst and most nastiest bread I have ever had. Honestly they need to have a food inspector, or something. That bread is definitely going to make...
Read moreThis is a fantastic restaurant! My girlfriend and I both work night shifts so our schedule always interferes with going out together for food, the options at 1 in the morning are very limited, but on the weekends they are open until 2 am!! I will admit, I went a bit overboard on the quantity of food and we couldn’t finish everything but I’m excited for leftovers! The tequeños were wonderful! Papusas delicious! Cachapas? Never heard of them and it was scrumptious! Also the torta cubana? To die for! And the passion fruit drink was fantastic too! Everything we ate we loved! We didn’t even have room for the last empanada! The lady at the front was so kind and welcoming! Even with how hectic everything gets during closing time she still took time to come out and make sure everything was good and see if we needed anything else. From the minute we walked in she was friendly and helpful and we really appreciated her. I was very impressed with the servers, the food, the atmosphere, and their hours. We will be going back...
Read more"Yummy Tequeños" is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Provo. Liz is the owner and has perfected every single dish offered, featuring dishes from Venezuela, El Salvador and Mexico. It's a traditional Latin experience that offered SO much more than I expected! And the customer service is amazing! Everything is local and homemade (bread included).
A few highlights: Tequeños - cheese on the inside, savory bread on the outside. It's like pulling apart homemade mozzarella crescent roll. Comes with house made "ranch" aioli Arepas - the more delicious version of a sandwich. The homemade bread is savory and amazing. I want to eat this every day. Tres leches - authentic and perfect. They also make full size orders for birthdays. Homemade passionfruit and orange juice Hamburger - also homemade bread...
