By far the worst fast-food experience I’ve had. Even though Sonic is my favorite chain, I’ll never go to this location again. Like many posts here say, the drive-thru is incredibly long. I waited for 10 minutes with no response. I drove up to the window and told them that the intercom was broken. They replied that it was probably because the sensor didn’t sense my car (which has never happened to me at any other fast food location ever, for any company). They also refused to take my order at the window, saying I had to either go back in line or in a stall because “they didn’t want to disrupt the line”, even though I was at the front of the line. So because their sensor is broken (so they say), I would have needed to wait another 10 minutes to place my order. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It’s also concerning that management knows of this issue (having replied to many of the posts here describing the issue) and then does nothing. You will not have a good experience with this location because they simply don’t care if you have a poor experience with them. I highly recommend that you avoid this location, even if you really enjoy Sonic like I do. UPDATE: I visited the link the owner places in every poor review. It was a survey for bad experiences you have with Sonic. I submitted it and then only offered a free medium Jumbo chicken with a purchase. No verifiable nor reliable steps were taken to improve the complaint (when I asked again for them to do something, they only said they forwarded the complaint to the location). So as seen in the behavior of this location (only replying and telling people to fill out a generic intake form and not improving issues that are expressed multiple times), they will provide poor service and if you inform them of it, they do nothing. Read moreI know the sonic in provo got busy when I was there trying to order some late night ice cream. I was paitently waiting my turn because I have worked fast food before and know it is overwhelming at times. No one said anything on the machiene for about 5 min and all the cars in front of me had disapeared so I polietly said hello to see if they were waiting for me to make my order and nothing. So I waited 2 more min and said hello again which I didnt hear anything not even a "just one min" So I waited a couple more minutes and asked if I could make my order and no one even greated me on the other end. I then just said my short icecream order aloud and went to the window. When they opened the window I asked if their machine was broken because I never heard anything and so it seemed broken. The nice cashier informed me they got really busy and thats why no one greated. I apoligized for being a bother and she took my order for 2 shakes. someone else handed me my order and I was hoping I didnt come off as rude, because I was just trying to order from a place that stays open late and has icecream. I got home and my shake tasted off. I dont know if its because they only put peanut butter in it and not the reeces or what had happened. It was salty so I chucked the rest of it in the trash. I cannot believe how downhill this place has gotten. I was trying to be poliet because im sure they were short staffed. But what an awful experience. Read moreHonestly so tired of this being the sonic closest to us. The app and website constantly state, "This restaurant is not taking orders at this time" regardless of the time of day. This wouldn't be an issue, except many of the promotional texts we receive have discounts ONLY through the app or webpage and the employees tonight said they are unable to honor the discounts even with proof of app and website issues. This does not seem to be an issue at other Sonic locations we have been to, so I couldn't say why this one struggles.
On top of this, most of the employees at this location are rude, and sometimes downright disrespectful. Things are sloppily put together at this location, with drinks having spillage all over, burgers being thrown into a mess, and sauces we have to pay for constantly being forgotten.
I used to frequent the Springville location before it closed down and it was amazing. And the Provo one was a good second for years. We never minded the long wait times at this location in the past because we know everywhere is understaffed and we get it.
But it has gone downhill far more than slow services. Service and food have tanked so horribly here and the only reason we came was for the nostalgia, good shakes and slushies, and great summer deals. But apparently we can't even get those now as the only way to get them is through a broken app for this location.
Save your time and go to a different location. Or better yet, find a better food joint all together....
