What can I say? Everything. I can say everything about this place. I went to skippers pretty much every week when I was younger. It was a staple. When they closed the lacey location (sometime around 2014 or so I believe) we were devastated. Well I happened to be in the area so we went, hoping it would be somewhat like what we remembered. It's. Exactly. The. Same 👏 As soon as I smelled the smell of fish and fries outside I knew it was going to be good. I chatted with the young man, who's name was Teddy at the front counter as he took my order. I told him I hadn't been since ours closed and he was shocked and so excited for me to be there. From the condiment bar to the cups for drinks, it was all the same as I remembered. What a trip! We ate our clam chowder and not long after we got settled, our food was delivered by Teddy himself. Everything was hot, fresh, DELICIOUS and just as I remembered it. We got fish, clam chowder, fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. Teddy checked on us multiple times as we enjoyed our food. He was simply the sweetest and deserves a raise! I really hope this location stays for years to come, and maybe, SOMEDAY, I can get my location back. Until then, I will happily make the drive from lacey to Puyallup for some good ol skippers. Don't change skippers, ...
Read moreY'all want the truth about Skippers? My only complaint are their spoons. They'll cut up the side of your lips after a couple bites, but man, the food is dynamite! Me and my old man bought 2 #2's for 16.99 each that come with three battered fish pucks, fries, a cup of chowder, a 16 oz drink, and coleslaw. We had to wait about fifteen minutes, but hey, you've gotta wait if you want quality fresh food. The fish came out hot and was crispy and flavorful, the fries were crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, the slaw was surprisingly delicious with a sweet and savory flavor, but let's talk about the chowder for a moment. I describe it as more of a "clam gravy" more than chowder, but I licked my bowl clean it was so good. Also, dipping the fries and fish in the chowder is a complete game changer, I do recommend, but don't shy away from their tarter sauce which is genuinely some of the best tarter sauce I've had at a seafood joint up here. If you see a Skippers in your area or if you're just passing through and come across them on the map, I promise you won't regret stopping. The service is friendly and welcoming, the food is a hit, and the prices are fairly reasonable too. Great...
Read moreI am very upset at Skippers Fish and Chips on East Main in Puyallup. Drove up at 7:30 open sign was on and people were inside eating. The sign on the door said opened Sundays until 8:00. I drove around to the drive through and sat there 10 minutes, I said hello a couple of times at the mic and toward the open back door. I finally drove around to the window and watched the customers inside finish eating and start to leave. I tapped on the drive though window but the waitress walked by toward the customers getting up from the table and didn't even look my way. So I decided to just go order inside. As I got to the front of the restaurant the last of the customers were coming out. I started to park my truck and the open light went off, and the waitress pulled the door closed. I drove back around to the window (at 7:45) and the waitress yells at me, "Can't you see we are closed?" Well not when it's 30 minutes before closing, the open light is on and people are being served inside. There was absolutely no reason for me to be treated so rudely. I was vey passive and happy about wanting to get dinner. But I will never get dinner...
