Started on a slippery slope, when we walked in the door the host asked "What can I get for you?" We were dumb struck for a second, not really ever having been asked this question by a host/hostess before. When we said a table for two, we were never asked if it was alright if we were seated at in the bar area, or if we would prefer to sit in the dining area. The bar area needs some work to dampen the sound. The ceiling is way too high and square, and bounces the sound around the room, making it almost impossible for anyone sitting at a table to hold a conversation. For a place that did not seem terribly busy on a Friday night, the sound was extremely loud. So now to the part that earned a 2 star, our waitress. First, she needs some customer service lessons. When she came to our table, she did not introduce herself to us, and if she did, she was very soft spoken, and we couldn't hear her over the ambient noise of the bar. Second, she seemed flustered/annoyed that we weren't ready to order food immediately upon her coming back to the table with our drinks. After our meal, when we asked for a dessert menu, she rattled off 4 desserts, but again we had a hard time understanding her. When we told her that we needed to think about it, she wandered off. This is where it became horrible. Instead of coming back, she proceeded to walk past our table 6 more times, but never stopped to ask if we had decided on dessert. My wife was going to order a glass of wine, but decided against it the fourth time she ignored our table. Finally, we had to stop her as she walked past, in order to ask for our check. She eventually brought it to us, while carrying a tray of drinks and someone else's check as well. As little as we saw her, she did not appear to have that many tables to wait on, and the entire restaurant did not appear to be busy.
The food was alright, and was nothing to write home about. My advice, don't get the fish and chips. They were bland, and put on a spring mix, which allowed the bottom piece to get soggy on the bottom. The chipotle lime steak tacos were actually good, but that was the only thing. The buffalo chicken dip was very salty, and tasted like it was made with velveeta or cheesewhiz. My wife and I both come from families that have strong culinary and food service backgrounds. We both have experience cooking and waiting in restaurants, and we have definitely had better service. I was surprised at the mediocre experience, as a few friends, who are picky about their food and beer, had highly recommended this restaurant. We will most likely not...
Read moreNice place settled in the heart of Quakertown. Service was ok, atmosphere was mediocre. Place was pretty packed on a Saturday night. Our drinks came out promptly but our apps took 40 minutes. We waited an additional 25 minutes for our food. We were just a table of two not a huge party. Appetizers came out cold and my seared Tuna was extremely fishy tasting, indicating it was not fresh. My friend tried it and could not finish his bite. Our entrées came out cold and overdone. I got a cheesteak which was very chewy/grizzly and the bread was hard due to being overcooked and sitting. The beer cheese was congealed from sitting to long. My friend ordered a medium-rare burger, which you can see in the picture was clearly well-done. Its sad because I really wanted to like the place. If I ever go back it will be strictly to sample their beers because the list looked great! I spoke with the manager and let her know our experience was less than satisfactory. She apologized and offered 0 compensation. I was not looking to be compensated just voicing our concerns about the meal. That is the main reason this place got 2 stars because they felt the need to give me several excuses about being busy and order of operations. Had they apologized and offered to make it right a higher score would have been achievable. I would not recommend this place for a dinner setting on a busy Friday or Saturday because they clearly can not pump out the volume of meals they seat in a...
Read moreAn evening that once had such promise ended in an absolute nightmare. Staff was extremely accommodating to our party which included three children. This was our first time visiting, we were happy with the menu, atmosphere and brews on tap but when the food came out it was a little disappointing. Mac and cheese skillet was served cold, the cheesesteak kinda tasted like it was ground Turkey or beef (definitely a different texture than a regular cheesesteak a cheesesteak expert like myself is used to) and a Buffalo chicken salad was served with chicken that was overcooked, the chicken seemed like it had been put in a dehydrator. Honestly none of those items were that bad and I usually wouldn’t bother to write a poor review over them until prior to leaving we checked in on the 3 year olds chicken fingers and fries. Dad taking a bite to help finish off the plate only got halfway into the chomp to be welcomed by a completely PINK, RAW chicken tender covered in a disguise of breadcrumbs. Heartbreaking to find out that his little one had already eating at least 2 raw chicken fingers..
Absolutely gross and inexcusable to mess up perhaps the easiest thing on the menu and serve them up to a toddler. We won’t be back. Ever. I’ve never seen an undercooked, pinker, softer piece of...
