My wife and I had made a special trip to Allentown, PA to pickup some things at the Woodcraft store. On our way back home we were looking for some place with a downtown area where we could get out and walk around a bit. Searching Google Maps, Quakertown, PA looked to have a compact, walkable downtown area. During our walk, we found the Trolley Barn Public Market which is a nice mix of small shops and food vendors. Unfortunately, we had already eaten lunch and had dinner plans, so we didn't try any of the food vendors, except we bring home candied bacon and deviled eggs from the Meat Wagon BBQ, both were good, but chopping up the bacon and adding it to the deviled eggs was really good. We visited the Rail Yard Meat and Market, which offers meats and other specialty grocery and bakery items. The quality of their meat looked great and was reasonably priced. We purchased pork chops and beef steaks (haven't tried them yet). Full Earth Goods had a good selection of local products, produce and healthy snack options. Our final stop was the Two Rivers Brewing Tap Room. We tried the Trolley Barn (Lager), a light refreshing beer and the Kellerbier, a European style pilsner, slightly darker than the lager with more hop flavor. Most seating was outdoors with a few fire pits. The day we were there it a little cold for being outside, not near a fire but you didn't have to worry about your beer getting warm. There are a number of other food vendors that we would have liked to try, we'll likely be going back, even though it's an 1-1/2 hour drive. The Trolley Barn and Quakertown were nice...
Read moreThe Trolley Barn is a super cute artsy industrial looking building that houses multiple eateries. My family of 3 went on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch. Even though the information online said that all of the shops were open, some were not. It was a bummer that we didn't get to try out The Creamery or the crepe shop. It was awesome to be able to shop several different food vendors, though, and sit down at a table to eat together. We ended up getting food from The Meat Wagon and bubble tea from the poke shop. The pulled pork is fantastic. The street corn is delightful. The kielbasa is good, but I would have loved it to be grilled as well, not just smoked. The greens, though... oh my! As a southerner, I am so picky about my greens. These tasted smoked, and they were transcendent! The hushpuppies were a bit dense and not as flavorful as they should be. However, I was excited to see them on the menu. I got the blueberry bubble tea, and my son got mango bubble tea. We both loved our tea. My husband got a sweet tea, which was just average in his opinion. Overall, it offers a great atmosphere and a good variety of...
Read moreThe Trolley Barn I Quakertown was a fun & relaxing evening out with my wife and friends. They were assiduous in maintaining social distancing and cleaning while not being intrusive.
We had drinks from Two Rivers brewing and Doan Distilling. Food came from Takkii Ramen and True Blue Mediterranean Cafe for my wife and I.
I have to say the Takkii Beef Ramen is excellent with enough spicing to be good but not overwhelming for people reticent on too much spice.
The beers from Two Rivers were a hit with the guys in the group. We all enjoyed the Blackberry Mojito and the Grog was especially tasty with forward tastes of citrus from grapefruit and lime with the berry base.
We enjoyed a fun and tasty evening dining and sampling great drinks at the Trolley Barn in Quakertown.
One side note, a shop I recommend you visit is the Full Earth Goods shop. They're good people selling products that are delicious and wholesome. I like the shop, the folks there are friendly, a great place to pick up quality foods and ingredients.
Overall, I strongly like you make the trip to Quakertown to visit and patronize the Trolley Barn...
