To say I was disappointed is an understatement…. Let me start by first telling you about myself and family. I grew up in Quincy Massachusetts. In 2002 I married a solider who have served 3 tours between Iraq and Afghanistan and moved clear across the country. Last week I got a phone call from one of my 20 cousins that our aunt had passed away.. My mom, twin one year olds and myself left for Boston as soon as we could. After a very emotional week between burying one aunt (my mom sister) And visiting another who has very bad case of dementia. I decided to treat my mom and myself to a real lobster dinner.. upon arriving we were seated right away. However i and the hostess moved a couple of chairs to make room for 2 high- chairs. One of your waitresses introduced herself as Riley. Upon moving a chair to put my high-chair in place of the chair. Riley decided she would stand right where I wanted to put my sons High chair. Why make your customer stand while you stand in the way??? I guess this is the start of the unenjoyable evening.. sadly things got worse from there. I had asked for milk for my babies But it never came.. I had to ask her again in which she replied “I forgot”. She never even asked me what I wanted for my kids, so I was forced to give them some of my mashed potatoes and buy dinner for them on the way home.. My water was only filled once and I noticed other tables were getting water filled more often.. I had to ask her for more water. I wanted to order a soda, But I felt like I was inconveniencing her. She was too busy taking a sip from her bottle, talking to other co-workers and attending other customers more often. We were never asked during our meal “how are you doing, or is there anything else I can get you?” I noticed during our meal this other party of two that came after us was served before us for meals and treated better…. I was planning on buying dessert for all 4 of us, but because of the service my elderly mother, and I received I said no. While we were still eating Riley had rushed us by asking can I get you to go boxes, in which it took her 10 minutes to retrieve…. I work in customer service and this is NOT how you treat YOUR customers….
I am very upset as this was my home once before my husband left to serve his country and I followed and to return home to bury a family member and to say goodbye to another, this was unbelievable….I had texted my cousins throughout my meal and I let them know about they service I had received at a place that we all wanted to go out on my last night back home… .My next time home I WILL not be coming to this...
Read moreAmazing views, & vibes and solid seafood dishes.
Came here with my colleagues for an early dinner on a weekday. The restaurant was in a secluded pier with all the boats and storage yards, so compared to other bay area restaurants I’ve been to in the area, it felt more private. The patio got eventually packed by the time we were about to leave, but we were able to snag a table right away.
We started off with some oysters, shrimps, and sautéed mussels. To be honest, the oysters and the shrimps were disappointing. The oysters lacked brininess, and overall it was just too mild. The jumbo shrimp looked great, but they were slightly overcooked and came out a tad rubbery. The mussels were satisfying and the white sauce was on point.
For the entrées, we opted for the scallops, swordfish, and the blackened chicken pasta. My colleague said the scallops were his favorite, and it was the most solid dish of the three. The rice grains were perfectly al dente, and I liked how they used the claw meats instead of the tail to amplify that natural lobster flavors. They also cut it in long chunks which helped accentuate its texture. Some of the scallop pieces weren’t exactly the freshest, but a solid dish overall. For entrées we had the scallops, swordfish, and blackened chicken pasta. My colleague was all about the scallops, and I’d say they were the best of the three. The rice had a good al dente bite, and I liked that they used claw meat instead of tail as it gave the lobster flavor a little more depth. Cutting it into long chunks made the texture pop too. Not every scallop tasted super fresh, but overall it was a pretty satisfying plate.
The swordfish was probably the thickest I’ve ever seen served as a steak, and even with the crisped edges it stayed fairly moist. Swordfish is usually kind of boring to me, but the crunchy bits in each bite kept it more interesting. Small tip: swap the fingerling potatoes for risotto—the extra moisture makes a big difference. As for the blackened chicken pasta, it had a pleasant kick, but otherwise was pretty standard.
Would come back to soak in the vibes and enjoy the waterfront setting. Food’s on par with some of the good seafood places I’ve been around Boston, but not the best...
Read moreThe reason why I'm not giving a 1 star is because I do like the food and it's kind of reasonably priced for a seafood restaurant close to Boston with the inflation. I went there on my first date with my husband 6 years ago which was a nice experience. Today we went there again with his family who are visiting from Asia. We are used to sharing food with family and that's what we did. We ordered more than enough food and shared everything. After we ate, my sister-in-law paid for the entire meal because she wanted to treat us. Being a foreign visitor, she's not used to how tip works. I told her to add 15% (btw, they had a 3% admin/service fee on top of tax and tip) because it's kind of a large bill plus 15% is enough at most places (would be nice and generous to pay more, of course, but it's a customer's choice). The waitress took away the bill before we left the table, and came back and asked if her service was poor and suggested a tip amount which is almost 20%. I find this extremely odd and rude but my sister-in-law ended up changing the tip to the amount suggested by the waitress. Oh by the way, the service was by no means good - I understood it because the restaurant was very busy with a wedding going on. I didn't have utensils for half an hour. And then I had to eat clam chowder with a fork because I was sharing one with my mother-in-law and we asked for an extra bowl but didn't get an extra spoon. Also, we asked politely if the waitress would mind taking a picture of us and apparently she was too busy to do so (but she was not busy enough to calculate the tip amount). Another waiter serving a different table was kind enough to offer taking a picture for us. In short, I would not be returning to the restaurant in the near future unless we're in an apocalypse and this is the only...
