WOW! 10⭐️ for the Wontons! The Wontons are truly authentic, the taste of the traditional Hong Kong / GuangZhou style! They even sprinkled some Dried Shrimp Roe Powder (蝦籽) on top of the Wontons, and some Hotbed Chives (韭黃)in the soup, packed in a takeout bowl which separated the Wontons and the Soup! These added attention to details show lots of respect and care!
I wouldn’t be surprised if they use the Dried Flounder Fish powder (大地魚粉) for its Soup Base, though I couldn’t tell the difference.
We yet to find one that’s comparable in Toronto or Montréal when visited last month, and neither New York where we reside. It’s probably even better than the famous MMK (麥文記) Wontons in Jordan HK, where it turns into a tourist trap with long lines, cramped space, and being rushed to finish.
This is a hidden gem family-run, holes in the wall kinda place. In addition to the Wontons, we also got the Braised Pork Knuckles and Brinded Three delights, which are both very solid, with the traditional homemade taste that we always crave for.
We will definitely need to dine in to try the Wonton Noodles, the Beef Briskets, and the Hong Kong style (“Silk-Stocking”) Tea with Milk (絲襪奶茶) that others recommended next...
Read moreI'm from out-of-state and was staying at the Marriott Boston Quincy. I found this restaurant through a quick "restaurants" search on Google Maps, and I'm so glad this was the first place that came up!
The previous customers' reviews looked stellar, and so did the photographs of the food, so my husband and I hopped in the car for the five-minute ride to the restaurant.
The food was the real deal! We started with the boneless spare ribs, which were cooked and marinated to perfection. For my main course, I had the katsu don. The chicken was deep-fried, crispy, and delicious, and there was a generous amount of egg with the rice. My husband had braised beef noodle soup. He chose it because he grew up eating it, and this dish, according to him, tasted just like his childhood memories.
The restaurant is small and intimate. The inside is simplistic, which is understandable because the food is the star of the show! From the street, the restaurant looks like an adorable little house. The service is friendly, quick, and attentive.
The food is just as good as the best restaurants in New York City's Chinatown. We will definitely come back here when we're back...
Read moreSouth Shores favorite Realtor here doing another food review. Honestly, this place is super authentic and you would never know it existed unless you drove here. It is off the beaten path, a little, but right in the heart of everything at the same time if that makes sense. I have to say I was absolutely impressed with the smiling staff and how nice they were. That was the first thing I noticed before even taking a bite of anything. I ended up getting the brisket wonton soup and a side of wings. I topped it off at the end with a red bean coffee. I will say this the soup was absolutely incredible, but the wings were a little too deep fried for me, but I could see how most people would love them. I highly recommend checking out this place if you get the chance as the menu is absolutely massive so there is plenty of options...
