We finally had a chance to try out Platt Daddy BBQ today and I only wish I had gotten their sooner! We started out with the smoke fried wings, then Michelle had the buffalo chicken wrap and I had the brisket burnt ends. We both had PDB taters as our sides. I got the wings unsauced and they were amazing. Light smoke, crispy, perfectly cooked and all-around wonderful. Maybe I'll try them with a sauce next time, but they don't need it. Michelle loved the buffalo chicken wrap but couldn't finish it, so she's got something to eat tonight. She just kept talking about how good it was so I guess it was ok. The PDB taters were just lovely. When I go to a BBQ place I generally ignore the sides because it's all about the meat for me, but the taters were great! You should definitely try them. Ah, the brisket burnt ends. What can I say? Divinely tender, juicy, perfectly smoked. I started out with no sauce, then realized I was going to end up finishing everything without ever trying the Platt Daddy BBQ sauce. So even though they didn't need sauce, I tried it. The sauce is beautifully sweet, spicy, and delicious. It's so perfectly balanced and it's made a little thinner than your average bbq sauce, so it really gets into the food. Service was fast and friendly, the restaurant is very nicely decorated and it just feels homey. It was a great place to relax and enjoy some food. When I got word of Platt Daddys, my eyes rolled slightly and that "Havnt had Que in a minute feeling settled over me and I assumed here we go. Another "Pit Master" boasting this prize and that reward with honors 2 states over. However, I cold not have been more wrong. I was litterally rocked by this in your grill, no holds barred Barbque joint. Most Que joints are like most other que joints. Your either in the mood for it or your not. You could probably guess 90% of most menus before arriving. Not at Platts...These are dishes! Entrees serverd with pride from a well thought out confident menu. I had to throw out 50 years of what I thought was bbq and glad I did. Platts has a costomer in me and a recomendation to all other bbq numbed foodies out there.
