This museum in Quincy is a little gem. It's beautiful first of all and the information on the exhibits is informative and addresses often-overlooked pieces of American history. For that alone a visit is well worth it. It is nice to know that this story about the Perkins family has a notable addition, both Edward Harrison Perkins and his mother, Mrs. Fanny Perkins, now have headstones in the Greenmount Cemetery noting their sacrifice, his as a WWI soldier and hers, as a Gold Star Mother. We visited the History Museum for their Calftown Christmas Celebration. What a fun experience! We made ornaments courtesy of the Budding Artist, enjoyed sandwiches from Cafetown Cafe, and sampled some traditional German Christmas cookies. They even had wine for this mama! The Historical Society of Quincy is a great little museum focusing on the history of the city and the surrounding area. With exhibits focusing on the city's founding, role in the underground railroad, and various stained glass art from around the town its worth a visit. The well stocked gift shop and friendly staff are what really make this a must see for any and all visitors to the city....
