The people are wonderful, but the quality of the bowling lanes has drastically gone down. There is either a problem with the approach not being slick enough, or the shoes are worn down too much. The shoes my daughter and I had were badly worn on the bottom. Going bowling wasn't planned, so I didn't have my own equipment. The boards right after the fault lines are all very damaged. I love the people who work there, but I think my family will be bowling elsewhere from now on.
Update: I received a reply from a staff member or owner. As I stated in my review, the people here are wonderful. If I could give a review based on customer service alone, I would give 10 stars if it would let me. I don't feel the lanes or the approach area are as well maintained as they used to be. 5 years ago, I could say that this was one of the best bowling allies I have ever been to, but unfortunately I didn't get that feeling. It is definitely nothing personal toward the business or any employees. The owner is one of the kindest people I know. The young man who assisted us when we came in was a gentleman, and he was quick and helpful at getting us set up.
As you can read in the reply, the USBC National was there for lane and approach inspection and they received a gold rating, which is the highest rating you can get in the industry. So, maybe I just didn't feel it that day. I will go back soon and see how it feels. I just felt like every time I reached the foul/fault line my left foot would suddenly stick and my knee would bend forward causing pain. I usually have a gradual slide for a short moment and don't feel like I ran into a some sort of stopper that caused me to come to an abrupt stop. I finally decided to just walk up to the line and throw from there, rather than my normal approach.
My apologies if I upset anyone at the establishment, because as I said more than once now, the whole staff there...
Read moreNormally this place is awesome. We took grandchildren there today and were told they couldn’t have bumpers because they were taller than the counter! We didn’t say anything initially, but after the second game, we asked again as we saw 4 other lanes with bumpers & the kids were taller than ours, but she refused again. A couple of our grandchildren got quite discouraged. We should have been able to make the decision when they were old enough & ready to play without bumpers. Thought she was joking the first time. They went on & played a second game ( after MawMaw’s convincing). As we paid we asked what the problem was & told the same thing. We have sang the praises of Tangerine to everyone we knew in the past, but unfortunately, quite the opposite here on out. If you check their website, it says, “ If you want bumpers, they’re on all lanes”! I took a screenshot. They’ll probably change the website now. Sorry, we really did enjoy this place...
Read moreThe kid at the front desk was rude and definitely did not want to be there, or maybe just didn't want to help us? It was our first time coming so naturally I had questions and I got the shortest answers possible and the vibe was way off. We had no issue with finding our lane, the area was clean. It was difficult to find a ball but we did it.
The kid working the kitchen was nicer than the other one but still just could tell he hated being there.
The bathroom was clean, there was vending machines up front so that was convenient too. The balls were rough, lots of chips but they got the job done.
We enjoyed our time playing the game , the lanes were fine!
I would give them another chance, maybe it was an off day. I'm a manager, so I know how hard it is to pump your team up sometimes but a little pep talk can...
