The Liquor Booth in Quincy, IL is an absolute bourbon hunter’s paradise. From the outside, it may look like just another liquor store tucked into a strip mall—but step inside, and you’ll find one of the most extensive and diverse bourbon selections outside of a Binny’s or Total Wine. I was genuinely impressed by how much was packed into this store: two full aisles dedicated entirely to bourbon and whiskey, several endcaps, and additional displays showcasing a curated mix of crowd favorites, craft distillers, and lesser-known gems. Whether you’re looking for staples like Buffalo Trace, something a little bolder like Chicken Cock’s full lineup, or rising stars like Fray Ranch and Hard Truth—this place has it all. The staff was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I had a great conversation with one of the team members who clearly knew his whiskey. We swapped recommendations and chatted about everything from limited releases to local distilleries. It really added to the experience. I ended up purchasing a bottle of Dragon’s Milk Origin Small Batch Bourbon—a sharp-looking bottle I’ve been wanting to try. Prices were slightly marked up (roughly 5–10% more than MSRP on some bottles), but frankly, for the selection, atmosphere, and support of a local business, it was more than worth it. This is a must-stop shop if you’re anywhere near Quincy—especially for bourbon and whiskey enthusiasts. It’s the kind of store that makes you want to slow down, browse the aisles, and discover something new. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m in the area. This one goes on the permanent rotation.
