La Poblanita store and Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Quitman

My husband and I had tacos and taquitos with homemade guacamole. They came with side pico de gallo, and creama (Mexican sour cream sauce with lime ) The food was excellent. As good as any authentic food in any central Mexican city. And we traveled throughout Mexico a lot.

The owner was friendly and spoke English. It was a very simple place with a Spanish food store attached. Drinks and beer in a cooler, no iced tea. But the food was excellent.

Food took a few minutes longer to be prepared, but it was evident that they were preparing it fresh on the spot. The homemade guacamole was wonderful.

Recommend the El Pastore tacos as they were very flavorful and fresh.

This is not a chips and taco type of place. But if you’re looking for authentic, freshly prepared, great quality food. The type of food that you’d eat if you ate with a traditional family, it taste homemade.

Absolutely AMAZING food! When I say they bring out a quesadilla that'll have you begging for a to go plate to finish later, or the fresh corn tortillas in the food or the pozole when you catch it on special... mm mm MM! Friendly staff and a wonderful variety of cold drinks (gotta try the horchata if you've never had it!) and a great variety of grocery there as well!

This is a hidden jewel in downtown Quitman. La Poblanita has the best Mexican food I’ve had in the US. The flavors are amazing; homemade tortillas, soups and their meats are seasoned and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is simple and quaint. It feels like you are visiting your grandma(in Mexico).
