When I find a place like this, Iām tempted to not say anything and not give the accolades it deserves because I selfishly donāt want them to be out of BBQ when I return. I love BBQ from everywhere, and itās exciting to try someone elseās take on it. OMG BBQ is a small, quiet, unassuming restaurant in Quitman, GA. Thereās scarce seating, so you may want to plan to get it to go. On my first visit, I ordered a half chicken and half slab of ribs. The meat was as tender as youād want it, and the smoke was the perfect compliment. They didnāt over-smoke the meat, and Iāve bought BBQ that made my truck smell like a chimney for a day or more. When I got home and the smoke aroma was only noticeable near the box, I knew they got it right. They served ours with a tasty mustard-based vinegar/sweet sauce, but they didnāt pour it over the meat. Thatās what you do when the BBQ meat is good enough without any help. I look forward to trying other things on the menu, and weāll stop by whenever we go through Quitman. I hope they thrive and influence others because we need more...
