China House — Restaurant in Racine

I love bourbon chicken so I decided to order some bourbon chicken from the china house on Durand ave in Racine wis. Well I'm used to bourbon chick having large pieces of cut up chicken thighs. And kind of a sweet syrup flavor. But not at the china house. Their meat was sooooo salty and tangy no taste of sweetness, and the meat was shredded up like canned chicken. I've ate there before but I've never had the bourbon chicken and I never will again..I called and spoke with the cashier and she said to bring it back for a refund.. so when I got there the owner was very loud with me, very rude to me and told me to never order from him again. I asked him why was he yelling. It was super salty I just couldn't eat it. The worst I've ever had. And the worst I've ever been treated. Because they don't know how to make...

I like china house they have good food but I don’t understand why I was charged so much today. I got bourbon chicken and vegetable fried rice. I didn’t order the large case of right though I only ordered a side cart of rice. With the bourbon chicken being $14 I subbed white rice for veggie rice. My total was $22. I don’t feel like complaining over the phone but that just doesn’t make sense…that’s such a high price just for them to switch the rice. And I didn’t get the $7 worth of rice. I got a tiny white pint of veggie rice. So why was it $22. I don’t think that was right. The bourbon chicken was also harsh in taste and thick. It didn’t taste like any bourbon chicken I’ve ever...

Simply the best chicken egg rolls I've had anywhere. I could an entire meal of just the egg rolls. But then I'd miss out on all the other delicious food they have.

For years I went to a place in downtown that has since (sadly) closed. This is a worthy successor and my new go to place when I'm in Racine.

A few quick things to be aware of for planning: It's take out or delivery only. Online ordering works well, and they give an option of quart or pint for almost all menu items. Just be aware you'll also get white rice with every item. You'll get plenty of sauce with your order so no worries there.
