Dog's & Cream Racine — Restaurant in Racine

Just tried Dogs and Cream for the first time after watching the slow decline of Caesar's in the same location and was pleasantly surprised. First I want to clear up some of the other low rated reviews on here:

They either got a new menu, or someone was mistaken, as everything was clearly listed, from hot dogs, to burgers, to ice cream, to sundaes, etc. 2. The store was very clean, they had just mopped when I got there and the floor, tables, and everything of relevance was basically spotless. The service was very good, I was greeted pleasantly upon entry, and received my food ~5 minutes from time of order (they needed 4 minutes to make my side item and let me know that ahead of time so I was prepared). Others claim much worse experiences, but from my point of view as a former food service industry manager, everything was handled very well.

As far as the food, I stuck to primarily what they advertise, dogs and cream. the ice cream I stuck with vanilla to avoid the other flavors clouding my judgement and it was good, but not great. The consistency was on point for custard, but had very little flavor, nothing off-putting though. Also, I had a jumbo Chicago dog, which was probably one of the best I have had in Racine, and a side of the sweet potato wedges with the marshmallow dipping sauce, which had a lot of potential, but either should have had smaller wedges/fries, or more of the dipping sauce, but was definitely a delicious concept I haven't seen done before.

That said, they definitely have room for improvement, as any restaurant does, but this was definitely a 5 star experience. I will be returning and hope that others will also visit, have the same experience I did, and help to increase the rating of this local restaurant if you feel it's...

Amazing food, friendly helpful thoughtful service, clean environment. We ordered off Grubhub and it was ready at the time they said it would be. When we arrived, the restaurant was clean and the staff was very attentive and welcoming. They were patient as I found my order on the app. They'd kept the shakes in the freezer to keep it nice and cold, which I really appreciated. The prices on their menu are very reasonable too. Once we got the food home, the BURGERS were SO DELICIOUS! Definitely 5 stars! The fries are in a class all their own since they're like a delicious cross between a steak fry and a curly fry, nice and thick and salty and fully cooked. The onion rings got 4 stars being tasty, but slightly greasy. The cheese curds were OK at 3 stars. They didn't have much flavor and needed marinara, which thankfully was included, along with a spicy ranch sauce. The mozzarella sticks honestly weren't the best at 2 stars for me. They were overdone and I tasted more burned taste than cheese. Couldn't finish them. REDEEMING FACTOR... the SHAKES! Wow! So amazing! Not made from powder, but made fresh, fruit blended Pineapple and the chocolate shake was rich and delicious. I will totally go here again, but skip the Grubhub fees and...

Amazing from the second we walked through the door! We had a new restaurant app that we were clueless on how to use and the owner/manager? came up to help us without having to ask; she was super friendly, smart, patient, and willing to help. The food was so good. Finally a great Swiss mushroom burger that rocks! Plus I had the Polish dog with grilled onions, I wanted a second one, as I ate they first one. I'd read a. review about the "little fried mozzarella balls" turns out they are the curds and so soft and yummy. We also tried the chilli dog so good! We each got a smoothie, strawberry and pina colada. We were truly amazed. Plus the girl they're training is so sweet and attentive and I really appreciated how patient and respectfully the owner was in training her. Another kudo was the cleaning products they used did not kill me; I'm so allergic to chemicals... One whiff and I'm flying out the door, didn't even notice until I saw the bucket around the corner. We are going back for dinner tomorrow night. We want to try more....
