Island Jam Authentic Jamaican Cuisine — Restaurant in Racine

I'm a Door Dasher, and this is the absolute WORST place to pick up!! Twice I waited more than 20 minutes for an order, and the second time we were kicked out for simply asking how much longer it would take to get the food after waiting nearly 30 minutes. There are literally 2 people working the entire restaurant. Walk in and you'll see 7-8 deliver drivers just waiting at the bar... or finally getting sick of the attitude from the woman working the counter and just canceling the order and leaving. They don't care. In fact, the made it clear they hated Door Dash orders, so they have no priority for those orders at all. If you're a Dasher, I highly recommend turning any and all orders down from this restaurant because it'll mess up your whole night as you wait with the rest of the deliver drivers at the bar, in an empty restaurant. The woman working there (possibly the owner) is incompetent, ignorant and rude, and unnervingly uncaring about customer satisfaction. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!! Upon first arriving, I was pretty lost on where to order or sit because there was no hostess or staff nearby. Once approaching the bar area though things became apparent. Ordering was a daunting endeavor but we were guided by this kind lady. She took time to explain the order arrangements and sides options. Since I had read past reviews I had expected longer wait times, but was surprised when the food was out within 10min. Overall the large jerk chicken platter with white rice and cabbage was great. In terms of Racine, this restaurant has the best grilled chicken. Would recommend once in a while as the food is heavy enough to make you want to sleep after :). I’d rather not leave even 1 star. I door dash and every time I have taken an order from here I am waiting 15+ minutes from the pick up time even with no one in the restaurant. I have trouble getting help from what seems to be the 1 employee who last time was also very rude to me and seemed more interested in casually chatting and laughing it up than asking me if I needed help and making sure the orders for her restaurant got out the door in a timely manner. I will no longer be accepting doordash orders from here and don’t recommend anyone else does either.
