Amada, Radnor I’m not even sure where to start with this review, as this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, my recent experience was quite disappointing. I came to the Radnor location on Thursday. The service was lacking, the drinks were subpar, and the food was mediocre at best.

Food: The octopus was particularly unappetizing; it tasted spoiled and was chopped up with potatoes, which I don’t recall ever being part of the dish before. It was completely drenched in paprika, almost as if they had dumped an entire bottle on it. The result was inedible.

The stuffed peppers, which were tiny sweet peppers filled with crab, were just okay. They seemed to be missing something, and the portion size was quite small with only two peppers served.

The ham croquettes were passable, and the potatoes were similarly unremarkable. The shrimp scampi, served with a baguette, was disappointing as well; it came swimming in oil with stale baguettes that had clearly been heated up to mask their staleness.

I would have liked to address my concerns with the bartender, but she seemed preoccupied and I didn’t have time to wait as I had a meeting to attend. When a customer leaves food on their plate, it’s a clear sign that something is amiss. I used to visit this place once a month, and I was really hoping to make it my go-to spot now that I’m back in the office. I’m genuinely disappointed and will not be returning.

I'm not sure if they’ve changed chefs or what might have caused this decline, but overall, my experience and the quality of the food were far...

I went for my birthday with my family, and we wanted to get the gin in tonic cart because it seemed fun. The waiting would just randomly walk away and the first time he did it, it was to find out the cart was actually not set up, because nobody used it. We did really want it so, he was very nice to get it set up for us. I would recommend the gin in tonic cart, it was refreshing and fun! All of the food we got was good, especially the El Res Paella. The meat was super tender and flavors were rich and dynamic. We had about 10 different tapas beforehand with a party of 5, so we only had about half of the paella. We asked to box it up, and the waiter ended up LOSING our leftovers. They gave our food to someone else, confessed that to us, and offered the leftovers from the other table! Just not the right compensation, I wouldn’t want to eat other people’s food that they salivated on! He then suggested to take pity desserts home, even though half of the desserts would have melted to go. This really disappointed me, this is like an 80 dollar dish, and half of it was just wasted to somebody else. He ended up taking two of the wine glasses off the bill, which came up to like 30 dollars off. In all this was a good food experience, but the service and atmosphere did not feel like it was on the higher end of cuisine, it was more like a TGI Fridays, not Amada in Radnor. I generally don’t care that much about service, but losing our food is a...

My wife and I went to Amada in Radnor at 530 on a Monday and were greeted right away by a very friendly host. We sat outside and had the patio to ourselves, which made it feel like a private dinner. There are a few outdoor tables, but you have to walk through the restaurant to get to them, so not sure if it is dog friendly.

Our server Ibrahim was excellent. He walked us through the menu and shared his favorites. They offer a tapas tasting menu for 45 and a full dinner tasting menu for 75, but we decided to choose our own experience. Ibrahim and the kitchen coursed everything out perfectly. We had seven tapas plates and one steak to share, and it felt like the right amount of food. Maybe a little too much, but we wanted to try as much as possible. It would also be fun with more people so you could sample lots of dishes.

Every plate was great, but the garlic shrimp were my favorite. My wife keeps raving about the salad, simple but perfectly done. Drinks were excellent too. She had cava on tap, I had an “Ole Fashion” and the tap lager, and we loved all of them. The music and overall vibe were spot on and made the night even better.

We skipped dessert but plan to try one of the tasting menus next time. Already looking forward to coming back with friends. Skip the drive into Center City and check this place...

AMADA — Radnor, PA 📌 SAVE for the newest brunch experience in the burbs! You have to get their famous family style brunch deal for $35/person — you get 5 tapas + one entree per person. This Spanish-style brunch had to be the most unique brunch I’ve ever had! I tried so much for the first time & my all time favorite was the amazing fried French toast (Torrijas)! If you like to switch it up & explore when it comes to food then Amada’s weekend brunch is for you! #amada #amadaradnor #mainline #themainline #montocopa #phillyburbs #mainlinefoodie #phillyfoodie #spanishfood #lifestylecreator #phillytok

Wasn’t the worst, but certainly wasn’t the best. Made a reservation after seeing people highly recommend on reddit, but got a bit nervous after seeing the slew of negative google reviews from the last few months. Decided to give it a go anyways, and I fear I should’ve taken the hint from the negative reviews. The service was pretty good, our waiter G was nice and attentive from start to finish. The patatas bravas were the best dish of the night, but were weaker than any other that I’ve had elsewhere (these were glorified home fries). From the reviews I’ve seen, it appears they changed the patatas bravas in the last 6 months, and the old preparation was more aligned with what I’ve had (and prefer). The ham croquettes looked great but fell short in taste and texture. The beef skewers had great taste but a chewy texture. The worst part was the basque cheesecake, which would’ve been fine if it wasn’t sitting in a pool of literal balsamic vinegar. We searched online to see if this is traditional in Spanish food, but were unable to find anything justifying this choice. It was honestly so bizarre and left us walking out with confusion. If you’ve never had tapas, you might not mind this food, but I would search elsewhere if you’re looking for high quality Spanish cuisine.
