Burger King — Restaurant in Rainbow City

Remember when Burger King burgers were hot, fresh and tasty with that flame-cooked flavor? Well, what we ate today was not that.

After several disappointing visits to various Burger King restaurants during our RV travels we decided to write them off. Until today we hadn't visited any Burger King in years.

But after reading a FB post from, we assume, the new manager of the Rainbow City, Alabama, location asking everyone to come back and give them another chance, we took the bait... and we were duped. Again.

We ordered two large Whopper meals. Each came with fries and a large drink.

The burgers were acceptable but the meat patties were barely warm and obviously not freshly prepared. They were edible but not enjoyable. The fries were not fresh and were cold to the touch. We did ask for fresh fries and they were cooked and delivered as requested.

We would love to regularly visit a Burger King restaurant that serves fresh hot Whoppers made the way they used to be. But if the food we received today is what management thinks is new and improved, we...

the service at rainbow city Burger King is ridiculous. I worked in the food industry myself for 4 years and would never leave a bad review unless I really had a reason to. There’s NO REASON AT ALL I should be waiting 51 mins when there is only 3 people in front of me. 25 in the drive thru and 15 at the window and another 11 after they ask me to pull up to the sidewalk. I arrived at 11:38 and I did not leave until 12:29. UNACCEPTABLE. I don’t know how they don’t get in trouble for this because I know their drive thru time is through the roof! And when I finally get to the window they laugh and play and talk and then HAVE THE NERVE to ask me to pull up after sitting there so long. I did not get my food until I finally parked and came inside and had to raise my voice at the lady who I’m pretty sure was the store manager and after all this i receive an apology Like that makes it better. Everyone at the counter was cheerful with good vibes! Happy to help and very respectful. Meka, the general manager, has some crazy good vibes! I can see why she is the general manager. All smiles, all laughs, and cutting up. Awesome people working here. The food was as fresh as it could get and hot. No cold fries, burgers weren’t cold and the drinks had the perfect ratio on syrup/carbonation. The lobby was very clean, the bathrooms were clean, behind the counter was clean (aside from a few fries, but that happens) the folks working here definitely make a difference in eating at a fast food restaurant. That’s why I gave 5 stars on atmosphere. It’s Burger King for crying out loud. We all know what to expect, it’s the employees that really make a difference in the atmosphere.
