New China Restaurant — Restaurant in Rainbow City

We decided to come here to this location on Saturday for a change, due to the fact that we normally go another restaurant close by a lot during the weekends. My mom was the one who got off the car to check this place out for herself if it was okay to eat here. Upon being there we saw that they had a lunch special of 5.95 to choose from. They also had other options to choose from that were close to $9-10 range but we took the advantage of the lunch deal. We had table service on arrival of our food. Well I had beef with rice and mixed veggies while my parents had one plate chicken with cashew nuts and another one with chicken and mixed vegetables. We all liked the food very much. The table we were sitting at was quite clean but as for the atmosphere of the location I may have to say it needs to do some working on. The ceiling, walls and air vents were quite dirty to look at and needed some renovation to do. The location only accepted cash, checks or Apple Pay which I found quite disappointing. I have been to a couple Chinese restaurants around or one outside Gadsden and I would say that this location shouldn’t be a problem for takeout but for dining in it would be a so-so. Placed my order, was given total (30.00)and offered with my debit card. Was informed they don't take cards and was asked to pay with check. I responded with i haven't written a check since 1992. (Sarcasm). Then was asked if I could pay with cash or cash app. I didn't have cash or the app. I then suggested a sign on the front door making people aware NO CARDS ACCEPTED, instead of the two spring roll for $1.99. They only accept cash or check. Food was good! I enjoyed coming & in my opinion you get quite a bit for your money. Will be coming back! People were friendly & helpful. Place shows it's age.
