Western Sizzlin — Restaurant in Rainbow City

EXTREMELY DISPLEASED!!! I won’t write a long drawn out review, but I do want to inform customers, and hopefully the owners about my experience. Staff and hostess were very polite. Came in for a birthday party. Wife was not feeling well, so she just got a small side salad from the salad bar. We had a large party, and her drink was overlooked and never brought. No big deal, I informed the waitress, and was told we would not be charged. The food was for lack of better words ABSOLUTELY NOT GOOD!! I ate a few bites, and lost my appetite. Decided maybe the dessert would be better. Got some icecream, and it tasted strange and was runny like water. Asked the waitress about it, and was told it is because it is a powdered icecream that is mixed with water. I was amazed. I took it that the waitresses must get complaints daily because of how not surprised they were when asked about the quality. Got the bill, and of course while splitting the checks it was overlooked and we were charged for full buffet and drink. Went to pay, and informed the person of what happened. Was told she did not have a manager card to override it, but would gladly go speak to the manager. She came back, apologized, and said that she was sorry, but the manager was doing the schedule, and told her that he was busy, and if she bothered him again he would close the door. Now, he may have been kidding with her, but either way, he never came out to help her, or to address the issue. She said she was sorry, but without the card, there was nothing she could do. So I had to pay 37 dollars for a salad, one drink, and the small plate I ate. It is the principal that I was told that I would have to pay for something that I never received, and the manager who’s job it is to handle issues, decided he did not feel like walking 20 feet to talk me. I want to also state that I called back and spoke to mr. Rodney. AWESOME guy! He apologized, and was very professional. Just wanted to make that clear in case anyone that works at the store sees this post. Will not post the manager in questions name, because that is even more unprofessional than he is. I will say though, it was the guy working around 3pm on this past Saturday. The one doing next weeks schedule. Also, I will be contacting corporate tomorrow, to inform them of my experience, and see if they will be kind enough to refund the difference that I was overcharged. Usually do not write negative reviews, but it does not sit well with me to be charged for something I never received, and be told that I would have to pay for it because the manager does not feel like being bothered to come do what he is paid to do. The restaurant was dirty from one end to the other. There was food, paper and dirt on the floor from one end to the other. the salt and pepper shakers had so much gunk on them that I dared not even touch them. The Fried Chicken was obviously cooked in oil that was old and burnt I'm gagging now just thinking about it writing this post and mashed potatoes believe it or not you can slice it like a pie it was so thick and starchy. The macaroni and cheese was just a blob of cheese and mushed up pasta. The rice was crunchy the steak was either dried out chunks of beef jerky are raw uncooked meat. I was there for about 45 minutes and the only ribs that were on the bar was bones only no meat just a pile of bones with barbecue sauce. they never even replaced it. And bless don't forget about the 10 corn kernels that was in the bottom of a pan on the bar for 45 minutes not replaced and God forbid we forget about those nasty pieces of brownie that tasted like a cardboard box that had been set out for a month and I go back to the beginning let's just say but the place was nasty probably one of the dirtiest restaurants have been in recently and how they made a 92 on their health score I don't know I think the health inspector was just being kind now a word about the service we ordered our drinks went to the bar got a plate come back we were nearly done with the first plate and we finally got our drinks it's tea people is not that hard you pour it into a cup and bring it to the table. I finally gave up on finding something that was edible set there for 15 minutes waiting on a ticket to go pay this place used to be really good of course I'm thinking back to about...

Well for starters the waitress was useless. She only came to our table when forced to and even then she told my son that we can't ask for her unless she is already in the back room! But she's barely in there and when she is she is busy with other customers. They don't put sauces or napkins holders on the tables but act put out if you want ketchup or napkins. They got on my son even after talking to us and him stopping, because he sat alone at another table not being used because he's autistic and needed quiet. We had to sit a mile away from the buffet which was annoying. We only got one drink refill which we had to ask repeatedly to get. There was very little selection, and what they had was all overcooked and cooked badly. The place barely had any people there but the waitresses was freaking out that the place was too packed and way more full than usual because mother's day weekend but honestly barely anyone was there. Good thing she don't work at the typically packed buffets I've seen in the past. The other waitress seemed good but she wasn't ours. Ours only had 2 tables at a time at most counting ours. I been to bad buffets but this one was the worst. Food and service wise. She was rude to my well behaved kids and didn't do her job so I did not tip her. And I never don't tip. Idk what her problem was. Next time lady don't harass my kid. I was pleasant this time....
