Chinatown Express — Restaurant in Raleigh

I am extremely disappointed in Chinatown express. 3 months ago I gave them 5 stars. Since then, my husband Cleo and I have ordered 3 times and the rice was very dry plus no broth was added. We alwayyyys ask for extra broth to ensure that the rice is NOT dry. TODAY, July 24, 2023, we ordered 2 entrees and AGAIN over the phone, we requested BROTH so they wouldn't be dry. We received 2 DRY ENTREES. We paid for a delivery order. We had to DRIVE back to the restaurant and Wendy gave me BROTH in a container. We also asked for 3 packs of noodles. Now I am back home and the noodles are terrible. They taste like they were cooked YESTERDAY and they are old and stale. They are going in the trash. They are usually very fresh. I WILL NO LONGER BE A CUSTOMER as of TODAY and she charged us $2.44 for the noodles. If your business has excellent customer service, you do not charge a frequent customer for noodles AFTER YOU PROVIDED...

I just want to preface that this food is edible and properly cooked. That is to say, it is fit for human consumption on a health basis. It is, in fact, food. It's also fairly inexpensive for the amount of food you get. What this food is not, is tasty.

Everything I ordered was bland. The steamed dumplings were tasteless, the fried rice was unappealing and was the wrong color, and the General Tso's, probably the best thing I had, reminded me of the stuff you can buy at Costco.

Far from abhorrent, this food was so bland I wouldn't have it again. Their menu is large, but I'm not willing to take the risk after three different unimpressive foods in a row.

Chinatown express is unequivocally my favorite place to eat after a long and arduous day at work. The customer service that they exude is second to none. Chinatown Express has a well trained and professional staff that makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Additionally, I work in the medical field and have a very keen eye for sanitation and sterilization!! And I proclaim that Chinatown Express is immensely clean and always smells greater than stellar!!
