House of Hops Craft Beer Shop - Midtown — Restaurant in Raleigh

I think the previous reviewer nailed it. Honestly, I really loved going to this place. The beer selection is excellent and reasonably priced. There is ample space to sit and enjoy... both inside and out. I used to go very frequently, up until the bartender/beer guy + mask situation. I've walked in several times where he wasn't wearing a mask and neither were his friends. I have approached another bartender about it but she kind of laughed it off. It was all rather insulting given all anyone wants to do is go out and enjoy a beer or two... even with all the anxieties of public health at the moment. Look, we are doing these things to protect others. At best, we're potentially saving lives... at worst, it's a minor inconvenience.

To House of Hops credit, the owner has responded to the other review referring to this, they have signs all over the place requiring masks, and they have hand sanitizer everywhere - so I do think they're trying and this is just a one off type scenario.

I may try it again after COVID-19 is over, but not right now.

Cute little place with a great selection of beers and ciders. We went by after eating at shuckin shack and grabbed a few beers to take home.

The man who rung up my order was extremely friendly and checked out the long line quickly. A woman who worked there was helpful when suggesting beers to us and telling us the warm beers were priced the same as cold if you wanted to take them home cold.

Dogs are welcome! Which is a big bonus. Live music every once in a while. Cute little.place, definitely suggest you check...

Huge selection of microbrewery beers. Not cheap. Most of them are pints, and one will range from maybe 3 to 7 dollars. You get what you pay for though. I grabbed two different IPA pints. They were very, very good. Only docking one star because the gentleman who served us seemed disinterested and bored to tears. Sucks but getting that vibe from a bartender can drive someone away. All in all, it’s a very cool place. I would suggest you check it out...
