Absolutely awesome store with even better employees! We signed up today after several years of trying to avoid it- we were in tow with our autistic six year old and she is quite rambunctious. I'm talking- twirling, spinning, running, talking to everyone...she is the poster child for ADHD. As such, she was bit hard to keep still while we signed up. However, Kyle was so incredible! He explained all the benefits of the membership levels, helped us set up the app- all the while entertaining the kiddo. He even gave her, her own Costco card with her name on the back. Truly absolutely the best customer service I have ever received. We are happy to be members of Costco finally! Thank you again Kyle for your outstanding service and support. It means the world to families of special needs kids!

Employee appreciation day today. I went to Costco at wake forest nc as always to buy cake(most of my co workers love Costco cake). They have the bakery closed due to construction, however, I got a frozen one, it was still great. I also bought wings,, salads, pin wheel , wraps and whole chicken. For the first time I was disappointed with Rotisserie chicken. Well when one of my staff tried cutting the chicken it was raw and bloody, see photos. The wings are also tough and rubbery. I don’t like giving bad reviews, however, I spend thousands of dollars a year to Costco and rely on the food and products. We throw away the food and had to buy more somewhere else for our employee appreciation team lunch.

This was maybe the fifth time I've shopped at Costco and this is the only trip that I feel the need to drop a review on. Sadly this was not the best experience. I completely understand Costco on a Sunday afternoon is going to be extremely busy and that's putting it lightly but this visit seriously lacked any person will customer service. When I shop I bring my own reusable bags in and then bringing 8 to 10 and I bag My groceries myself as they bring it up I have never been told this is not allowed on my previous visits. I completely understand if it is a policy but it seems to be more as if it's frowned upon because the employees like to put the groceries in the carts themselves. Upon going up to the cashier he acknowledged me and I acknowledged him back speaking English in a second employee comes up to me and ask me in Spanish if I speak Spanish and I said very very little I speak English. She then walked away and as I begin to beg my groceries she comes back to me speaking in Spanish explaining how they like to put The items in boxes and do it for the customer I then again said I speak English and then she said it in English. I asked if this is a problem I can stop would you like me to stop? She said no and walked away I continued to beg my groceries. I clearly was not going fast enough when my cashier began to ring up the next customer and engaging conversation with that customer when I went around to pay I had to wait for him to acknowledge me because he's in the conversation with the next customer without finishing up with me. Also at the beginning of my transaction I had an aggressively push the executive card I immediately said no thank you I am not interested and she began to continue with her sales pitch saying I would save money instantly I only have to spend another $48 I then said I just want to focus on begging my groceries then she walked away A few moments later she again came back pushing the executive card I told her I don't come up often maybe once a month and she kept on saying that's all you need to do I'm trying to factor the savings and if this is realistic for me to get if it was even needed. I ultimately said I really am not interested and with a frustrated look she walked away. I also didn't understand why she just assumed I speak Spanish because of my appearance I did not see her ask anybody else if they spoke Spanish. Obviously her assumption was wrong and rude. I have worked in retail management, sales and customer service for over 20 years and I worked in high volume big box companies that want customers in and out as quickly as possible spending as much as possible, I get the sales and business side of it. I am just very disappointed in the last of personable customer service. If it was not for the customers who come in here in shop and spend money at this establishment these employees would not have a job to go to and earn money. I understand that it is not realistic for you to shake hands of everybody that comes in your establishment but simple basic customer service and speaking skills go a long way. I only gave her three star because I was disappointed with a customer service not the...

I was Just discriminated at the Costco‘s location off of Wake Forest Rd. I would never ever try to shop there ever again. They would not allow me to use my sister Costco card who is disabled. To shop for her. Even with her on the phone and card on hand. Then walked behind me as if I was a thief. Then Kimberly called Raleigh PD and said, I’m trespassing you for being disrespectful. When the only ones that was disrespectful was the staff including her. I called corporate nobody has responded to my complaint. I was sent to voicemail. They said person handling overseas that department was on 2nd floor and could be at lunch or something. But she is the only person that can help. They need a whole new manager over seeing that Costco’s who can handle any situation and they employees properly. Because it was very evident that Kimberlee and the guy with the ball head was very close friends because she believed everything he said and didn’t even want to hear anything that I had to say and dismissed me fully as well as the Gold card member that is disabled that was on the phone. Kimberlee The supervisor there is very disrespectful and did not try to resolve any type of issues even with her staff, she goes with anything that they say even when they are doing wrong. The black ball guy who is Supervisor is very disrespectful and inhuman women the way he speaks to you. He needs a class on customer service. The young lady that has a blonde haircut very disrespectful. They all need training on how customers supposed to be treated. They are workers and should treat paying customers who keeps the company and business going with respect. No one even tried to help me basically just follow me around like I was a thief. Even when I offered to just pay for my own card they refused to help me. I came in with a Gold membership Costco card and they discriminated against me by color and only card me. She was so busy looking at me many people walked in not carded. Because she was busy following me on the other side cause she said I couldn’t walk threw that side that said enter but to go out and enter the exit side. people was coming out and it was a lot of traffic that way. She still made me go and followed me to the other side threw the gate she went. She would not allow me to walk to customer service. She called black balled guy and other workers to remove us. people was walking through the gate without showing their proof of card if you’re gonna do it for one, you have to do it for all. Then black balled guy said put the cart back. People need to start going on strike when they have been disrespected from workers. The costumer keeps the business going when they spend money. Then maybe then will the head quarters stop taking stuff like this likely or file a discrimination case against these type of companies for allowing this to go down. I’m so disgusted with this particular location I will never in life as long as I breathe visit that...

UPDATE 6/27/25: if you don’t like customers using the barcode scanning gun at the registers, then implement a better way to scan bulky items such as cases of water. Do not dare catch an attitude with me when I go to use it. One of your associates just did this to me and was rude as hell about it. That’s why her self checkout line was 30 customers deep. If you don’t want people using the scanner gun, then either put it in your pocket or clip it to yourself. Don’t leave it out in the open sitting in a cart. You get what you pay for COSTCO. And no, I am STILL NOT a member . Found a way around that policy a long time ago.

UPDATE 11/9/24: Typically did not shop at wholesale clubs but I just picked up both new Sam’s club & BJs memberships, and so did my sister. She cancelled her Costco one after this incident. Bye-bye Costco. PS, got them both for great offers, less than Costco’s $65 membership.

ORIGINAL POST: With their new scanner policy, I am no longer able to pick up groceries, medications and other much needed supplies for my sister, who has MS and can no longer walk. They would not allow me in the store and told me because I did not reside at the same residence as her that I could no longer shop there unless I got my own membership. I am one person, I don’t need a Costco warehouse membership, what the hell am I going to do with bulk items!!?? No, I am not being forced to spend money on a separate membership for $65 when no one else is enforcing this. My sister also has pending returns that need to be made by me, so how the F is that exactly supposed to work when I can’t even get in the damn store??? Whoever is at the front entrance next time should prepare to bring a manager over to address those returns since my sister cannot be present, because it will be me. If you don’t want a scene, then comply & simply make the return and let me just walk out. Lose the damn scanners. They also are in dire need of more Costco locations here. They are servicing everyone in Raleigh, Knightdale, Wake Forest, and Wendell. This one is overly packed with people & always way too busy. Then you go outside and wait in a huge line for gas. I’m also originally from NJ, so definitely not used to this kind of congestion at a Costco because we have so many locations. The Costcos suck here.— Never had a problem with Costco for years until now. My sister is also canceling her membership. The doorway bottleneck that their new scanner system has caused even made an elderly man trip and fall over someone else’s stroller. The old man fell down on the hard concrete floor and the Costco employees were barely even helping him. Steer clear...
