I placed an order via the app for in store pickup. When I arrived, the door to the restaurant was locked with a handwritten sign taped to the window reading “onlines only.” Worse yet, a child had been locked inside the restaurant away from his mother, who was desperately trying to get the staff to unlock the door to let him out. It seems as though the door had been unlocked when they arrived to pick up the food, but after the child entered, a staff person locked the door behind him before his mother could enter. After a minute or so of the mother pleading for the door to be unlocked (a quite unsettling amount of time) a staff woman opened the door and confronted the mother in a very antagonistic way, saying "Why are you banging on the door? I don't have to serve you. I was ex-military and I know what I'm doing.” The mother of the child told her that she wanted her to let the child out. At this point, the staff member began to say that she only had accidentally locked the door and thought that she’d actually unlocked it for him. I have no idea how this could be true, because the door seemed to have a simple deadbolt that locked only from the inside. If it was unlocked as the child walked in, the only way it seems that it could be locked was intentionally by someone on the inside. Fortunately, the staff woman let the child out of the restaurant and avoided a potential police visit and kidnapping charge. Needless to say, this was extremely disturbing. By this time my order was 10 minutes late and I left because the situation started to seem quite volitale and unsafe. I called the store number listed on the app and the same staff person who came to the door answered. She identified herself as the manager of the store. I said that I wanted a refund on my order and I also wanted to know why she was locking customers in the restaurant. She said “oh it’s okay we’re letting people in now,” with no explanation as to how she made this decision. She told me that I could use the app to get a refund on my order. The best option I could find was sending a message via the “customer service” selection on the app. I did this, but it seems like the messages go directly to the store. I’m not confident that my message will be read at all, let alone my order refunded. I’d suggest not buying food from this particular Jersey Mike’s location. I’d also suggest not going all the way...
Read moreI ordered today online at 1125 am for a 2 pm pick up. When I went into the store at 2:05, my order was not ready. There was one man slicing deli meat for a line 5 people deep. The girl with red braids assembling the sandwiches was literally moving in reverse. No one greeted any of the patrons. There were 3 people in the back area standing around talking. Clearly, they could have gloved up and assisted the two at the counter, but did not. Finally, a woman came from the back area by the grill, and stood at the register. She eventually greeted me by asking my name for the pick up. She located my sandwiches which had been prepped with deli meat only - waiting for the “snail” to assemble “Mikes Way.” The woman told the “snail” to assemble my sandwiches next and quoted the time the order was made online and that I was waiting. She then went to the register to check out a customer. When she completed that, she folded her arms and leaned against the register watching the “snail” as she prepped another sandwich for someone waiting in the line. The “snail” then prepped two additional sandwiches while, what I can only assume was the manager on duty stood with her arms folded still leaning on the register. She did speak up and instructed the “snail” to prepare my order next. When the genius “snail” took a fourth sandwich for yet another customer from the line, the woman who I assume was the manager, grabbed my sandwiches and prepped them from a fixings bar behind the register. Meanwhile, one of the two remaining losers from the grill area emerged to the dining room and fielded a phone call on speaker for everyone standing in the store to listen to. When I finally got my order - it was 2:25. When the woman handed me the bag - she never offered an apology for the delay or even a smile. Customer service at this location simply sucks! And, management seemingly...
Read moreMy experience was horrible. As soon as we walked in, no one greeted us. The lady in front of us placed an order for two regular subs, and the lady at the slicer made a giant for her. This is relevant for our experience. The slicer was not wiped down once in the 15 minutes we were inside the store.
When it was time for me to order, I ordered a regular number 7 Mike’s way, no onion on white. The lady who took my order seemed flustered but made my sandwich anyway. She made a giant for me as well, and when I told her that it was incorrect she got an attitude with me about it, when I very clearly said regular size to begin with. I asked people around me and they confirmed they heard me say regular as well.
I ordered two more sandwiches, a vegetable mini and another no. 7 on white. Both were served with serious attitude for no reason. I asked the same woman what my options for vegetables were and she acted like she couldn’t hear me. Frustrated at this point, I just told her to put lettuce and bell peppers and called it a day even though that’s not really what I wanted.
I went to the register, and checked out. As I was filling my cups, I heard the woman who served me talking about me with the other lady at the front who was running the register. Unacceptable.
I tried to be patient with this woman and didn’t give her any reason to act like she did other than correcting my order which I stated clearly the first time. It’s not my fault that she made the wrong sandwich, and it’s definitely not my fault that I ordered more than one sub.
Very poor...
