こんにちは私の友人 (Kon'nichiwa watashi no yūjin)!!!
Update..
08/24 - still killin it but i had to take a single star away since they have become quite expensive! Again, it is one of my favorite sushi restaurants, but the price of the sashimi is outrageous! My top spot Akashi in RTP near my house does BOGO rolls, and you get 3 pieces of sashimi or 2 pieces of nigiri for $3.75 - $5.00 and I promise, the quality is just as good if not better..
Sake House, PLEASE add just 1 more piece of sashimi per order for the $4-$5 you are charging.. Akashi in RTP even gives me 2, very nice, thick pieces of O-toro for $10-$11!
08/23 - Still one of the 2 absolute best BOGO Sushi restaurants within an hours' drive amd that is is coming from someone who's eaten sushi around tue world!!!
Stop sleeping on this place, people!!! Adding several new photos! The only other BOGO sushi spot that I enjoy around around here is Akashi, in RTP/ Durham.
P.S. if you are a "bougie" foodie like me, you will still enjoy this spot. However, don't be a dummy and compliant about what you get as a BIY ONE GET ONE FREE! 😂. You did yourself an injustice by expecting Michelin star dishes for a $60 tab, folks..
I and my wife also frequent M Sushi in Durham, and you can't even have a good date night for less than $200+, so again, please, get over your tiny pockets! LMFAO 🤣
01/22 - I'll start out by saying I've lived in the Triangle for 20 years, have traveled across the country and internationally multiple times, and have eaten Sushi everywhere I've gone (I'VE EVEN BEEN TO ASIA)! I've also been to 25-30 sushi/ Japanese restaurants in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, RTP, Cary, Morrisville, etc..
So I just took 3 of my best friends to Sake House tonight, and we all had a great time, DELICIOUS food, and excellent customer service! I have known Chris (the former manager) over 15 years now, and now I know Angela (the current manager). As a matter of fact, I have never been to Sake House and had a bad experience! One of my friends didn't even care much for Sushi/ Sashimi, and that's all he ate and still loved it as a first-timer!! I'm glad to say he's a changed man now and loves sushi!
No offense to them by any means as I LOVE their food but I would rate Sake House number 4 or maybe 5 on my list next to: #1 M Sushi, #2 Waraji (go see Masa or Joo-Joo (sushi chefs at the sushi counter/ bar (tell them Wes and Esra sent you)). #3 City Market Sushi (again, you get what you pay for, so be ready to spend $125-$250 on a nice date night for 2 at these 3 locations). I'm also torn between my #4 and #5 as my everyday sushi/ sashimi restaurant being Akashi and Sake House! My fiancé and I have been to all of these places at least 5-20 times!!!
With that said, my friends and I all ordered Sake, Beers, Sushi rolls, Sashimi, etc. (They are best known for their sushi and sashimi)! I hate to say it, too, but I wouldn't go there for any of the other food since there are plenty of other restaurants that specialize in those.
I've been ordering sushi and sashimi here for close to 20 years, so that's gotta tell the tale itself! Again, Sake House specializes in sushi, sashimi, nigiri, Maki, etc.
HINT: I've been going to Sake House for close to 20 years now, and you can get the deluxe Sashimi dinner for $30 bucks, but you also get 15/16 pieces of sashimi, which means it brings the cost down to $2 a piece! Now that's a deal I can get down with 2-3 times a week! 👍🏻😉 Most other places charge $4-$9 per piece for their sashimi!
Here's a few pictures to tantalize your taste buds!!! 😋
P.S.. Shame on anyone who ever went here, had good experiences, didn't write a good review, and then went back on another occasion and had what they felt was not a good experience and wrote a bad review! No one can be perfect 100% of the time, and you know you...
Read moreIf I could give it less than one star I would. It’s story time, whew. We frequent many sushi restaurants in the area, a good roll is hard to pass up on any day. We decided to stop in here for a bite. We were immediately seated, and then brought waters, my friends son even asked if they do not serve anything but waters since he wasn’t asked what he wanted to drink. I texted my husband to let him know we grabbed a bit and sat down at 7:05. The table beside us was placing their order. 7:27 rolls around and no one had even stopped to get our drinks, yet the table beside was getting food. There were roughly 5 tables the entire time(mind you that no one else came in to be seated until we were signing the check so that was it). This should have been the red flag that sent us packing but we love sushi so decided to stick it out and I headed to the front to ask if someone was coming to assist us. They immediately came to take our orders, no apologies but that should have been clear from the way they seemed to dodge our table for the first 20 minutes. Still had our waters, no drinks were offered but we gave our entire order which included a bottle of sake. 7:50 rolls around, nothing. I ask another waitress and she immediately grabs the sake, honestly really needed at that point because so far this experience was laughable. Followed shortly after by our gyoza. Which was great by the way, had an orchard on the plate, so I guess that is the one star here, cool presentation. So we then get our sushi total of 6 rolls, which usually is accompanied by a waiter/tress advising which rolls are which. Our waiter had 0 clue. Like at all. So we spent roughly 3-4 minutes trying to look through the massive amounts of kale that dressed the plate. We start grabbing a few and then thought OH, there’s only 5 rolls here from the looks of it. The waiter heard this and came over, since he didn’t know which sushi was which in the first place, he grabs the ENTIRE plate and goes back to the sushi bar with it.... Turns out two of the rolls had the same topping, so they placed them together and covered them with the large amount of tempura. We asked for the check after a few bites and 15 minutes later had to flag the waitress down to actually take the check to pay. She seemed to be the one taking the take out orders, but could sense we were upset, but I did not want to take our frustrations out on her. Our waiter didn’t stop to ask us if the food was good, if we needed water, anything. We were so confused that someone had walked out of there saying they would certainly come again. We will...
Read moreI will start off by saying the sushi and tempura shrimp/vegetables were delicious (in fact best I’ve ever had), But I am just extremely disappointed with experience as a whole. Prior to sitting down at my table, I asked about the menu to ensure the sushi was BOGO like any other sushi restaurant I have ever been to. We just moved into a home and are desperately trying to enjoy small meals out but at a budget. The waitress assured me that it was and we sat down. I barely looked at the menu as I Already knew what I wanted based on my previous Sushi outings.
We ordered our meals and the bill followed. When I got the bill I was shocked and called the waitress over, as I knew she had made a mistake on our bill. I was charged fully for my husbands sushi (whose Meal was over twice the price of mine) rather than BOGO by our individual meals. I knew this was wrong because I asked The waitress about this before we even sat down for our meal. She said that in the menu (in smaller words) it states that the BOGO always takes the highest menu item price. For example, my meal was 8.99 and his was 19.99. She charged us twice for 19.99 (his meal) and none for my 8.99 meal. One, the menu is very misleading about this...and two, the waitress should have made this way more clear to me before I even sat down at their establishment. I asked to speak with the manager but unfortunately that was her. She never offered to fix my bill or apologize. I payed the bill and left thinking I would never walk back through those doors. As you can see it’s not always about the money, but doing the right thing.
I am saddened to have been so mislead & will more than likely never be coming back due to this negative experience. I will ensure my friends and family know about this as I don’t want anyone else feeling the way I felt...
