Mar-Y-Sol Restaurant — Restaurant in Raleigh

I have loved going to Mar y Sol since they first opened and had only a handful of tables. The food has always been excellent and the customer service friendly and welcoming. 5 stars for both. Tonight, when I brought my best friend to experience Mar y Sol, the 20-something wait staff was more interested in hanging out with their boyfriends in the corner than doing their job. We were not treated like customers but rather like 2 old white men who had walked into a Latin night club that caters to 20-somethings. Menus were placed on the table and the staff walked away and waited for us to leave by either ignoring us, talking with their boyfriends, or making themselves scarce. After 10 minutes of being ignored, we left. Hands down the worst customer service I have experienced in any restaurant. I resent feeling compelled to write a negative review because this really is an excellent place to get papusas con jamon y queso, bistec encebollado, and other dishes that do not have numbers attached to them. Perhaps I will revisit Mar y Sol for lunch in a few months, but definitely not again on a Saturday evening. Hoping the owners correct this...

Horrible customer service! I went in to get some salad and cheese to go with my Pupusas that my housekeeper made. They wanted to charge me $38 for those two things which is really ridiculous. So I went down the street to a food truck that sells pupusa‘s (RIVERA’S PUPUSAS Y MAS!)and I asked them and they gave them to me for free and wanted me to try their Pupusas. Let me tell you it was really really good!!! Better than a regular restaurant. So I will be going to that food truck when I want pupusa‘s and that’s very often. As for the restaurant I was very nice and the manager or that person that’s in charge would not come up front to talk to me. He probably knew he was taking advantage of me by charging so much. He was a coward and wouldn’t even come out and talk to me.

Save your money and go to Riviera‘s Pupusas Y Mas food truck. Their customer service is much better, food is authentic and probably one of the best pupusa‘s I’ve ever eaten, and their prices...

So I have been coming for about 6 years and lately I have been hesitant because the food doesnt taste the same. The servers always look like they are doing you a favor and don't listen very well. I have placed take out orders before and they always mess up my order. I am a fluent in Spanish, so there is not a language barrier. I went this past Saturday for lunch and there was a bug in my drink. I brought up the drink to the server, who was new and than told one of the other servers who has been there for a long time and they didn't even apologize. As, a person who has served before I would have expected the manager ( owner that is always there) to at least come an apologize or actually care, but I guess not. Than there was another bug on the table and I let them know about it and still no response. I will not...
