Pho Oxtail was a great experience: finished a bowl of noodles while the broth was still hot.
The restaurant is newly renovated, bright atmosphere, very clean, neat, and cozy ambience. It’s neat as you can draw on the chalk board with chalk board markers. We made our own art on the board.
•The noodle bowls were quite good; good ratio of meat and noodles •The service quality exceeds what I expected •Prices are very reasonable •They also played music videos while I was there if they are not busy •Friendly owners and staff
We tried the following:
Mì Quảng - noodle dish from central Vietnam with less broth (the broth was flavorful I had to request extra broth), yellow egg noodles, fresh veggies (including lettuce, fresh bean sprouts) and herbs, shrimp, pork, chicken, roasted peanuts, fried shallots, a rice cracker, and quail egg. The pork and chicken were juicy and tender. The broth was tangy with a bit of sweetness.
Bún bò Huế- Spicy beef soup with thick round rice noodles, pork knuckle, sliced beef. It came with a garnish side of huge mound of fresh bean sprouts, mint, lettuce, herbs, 2 wedges of lemon, and jalapeño peppers to mix into the noodle bowl. Bún bò Huế noodle bowl was so good in the savory beef broth with a hint of sweetness and spices.
Phở - the traditional Vietnamese noodle bowl. The broth was light, clear, and infused with flavor. It was served with bean sprouts, jalapenos, basil, and lime on the side. The size was generous with ample noodles, tender meat and lots of fresh sprouts and basil. I added a squeeze of fresh lime, hoisin and Sriracha sauces.
Cơm Sườn (Pork Chop and Rice topped with sunny side egg) - These Vietnamese pork chops have a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The grilled pork chop is marinated with lemongrass.
When you’re done with the meal, go to the cash register to pay.
Be sure to try their fresh fruit smoothies!
I will come back and try their pho oxtail soon.
What’s is so spectacular about Pho Oxtail that I have frequently dined in 3 times already is that the restaurant contributes 10% of their profit towards Vietnam for school education. That warms my heart like their cà phê đá...
Read moreI wished that I could’ve given the food a review. The atmosphere was nice; newly remodeled look. I didn’t hold against them that there was a table full of half eaten food just sitting right next to the register that looked like it had been sitting for a while OR that the sanitation rating was only 94.5 (I typically don’t eat at any establishment with less than a 98 rating, because I’m thinking what could you possibly be doing to food that wouldn’t allow you to get a 100, but I give a little grace considering all things, but anything less than a 98 in my opinion means that whatever you’re doing to mishandle food that I’m going to eat, my digestive system does NOT want to find out). With that being said, I frowned at the 94.5 rating but said a prayer because we had driven over 30 minutes and I’ve struggled so with finding good Pho since relocating to the Raleigh area over a year ago, so I was desperate and hungry. We stood at the register for about 5-8 minutes before another patron walks in and casually walks in front of us to stand in between the register and kitchen entry; I’m thinking that perhaps she was there to pick up a to go order. She stands there for about 4-5 minutes before she yells something towards the kitchen area (not sure what because she wasn’t speaking English). Shortly out walks someone from the back, she looks at the woman and proceeds to take her order; never once acknowledging our presence nor asking who may have been there first (we were standing directly at the front of the register, menu in hand. She takes the womans order and eventually asks is it for here or to go, again never looking at us or our direction; then she walks away slightly. I politely placed the menu back on the counter and told my husband that I wanted to leave. I absolutely refuse to beg an establishment to take my hard earned money, ESPECIALLY with a 94.5 sanitation rating. My quest for good Pho...
Read moreVery bad. I ordered food made notes. They didn’t follow any directions. Not even 1 direction. And I paid extra to get the food.
Profanity????? You probably do not know the meaning of profanity. Upset?Yes, I was. I paid $39 for a combo noodle with extra noddles that costs about $17 and the extra noodles $2.50. Then I also asked for spring rolls that costs about $6, plus taxes and all other fees. I paid for a service to deliver it to me. It was not the driver’s fault nor Uber Eats. You didn’t read the notes, you even read the notes on the phone to me so you had access to them and I added the notes twice, but nothing on the notes was followed and no extra noodles. Then you wanted me to go and pick up a new order? Spend more money in gas and so forth????? You hung up the phone on me because I was not happy with the options you were giving me. I did not curse at you nor have I spoken with you in a wrong way. I simply said no, I am not doing that. You made the mistake, you should fix it. Not me. Customer Service- the worst! People can read how you actually are with your comment, I never cursed during the call. And besides, you never called me to apologize. I called you and I have proof that I was the one who called, and after you hung up, I called 3 times but it went straight to voicemail that you haven’t set up. So you are lying 2 times. You never apologized for the mistake you have made and you think people can just drop everything and go to your restaurant and pick up a new order. Learn from your mistakes, try to fix what was wrong and learn to apologize....
