UPDATE 8/9/17: The below only applies if Randy (long-haired, slender blond female) is behind the bar. The other two dudes we saw on our second visit (curly-haired owner and another dark-haired guy tallish) were aloof, lackluster, stoic, and unhelpful. Oh, except with a particular group who we guessed may have been regulars, the way the dark-haired bartender was cackling with them all, to the exclusion of everyone else.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Loved it here. As a place to go relax with a beer, literally everything about it was perfect.
Randy was the bartender, and she was a dream. Extremely engaging, engaged, and attentive, plus lovely, low-key and down to earth. A few of those may seem strange to mention, but... let's just say we've been to a lot of craft beer shops in the area, and you come to understand that these things greatly add to - or subtract from - the overall vibe, and your experience.
We both ordered flights because, although they only had perhaps 8 taps total, several of them were delicious and we couldn't choose just one.
The beautiful flowing fountain outside was EVERYTHING, and it wasn't crowded anywhere on this breezy, warm July Sunday evening.
It was CLEAN (impeccable, actually), even the spotless bathrooms.
Interesting beer choices all across the board. And they're open late enough, until 10 on Sundays!
The only thing that was missing for me was the bottled beer selection. But we have other places for that. I'm so happy we found this lovely location...
Read moreThis is for the owner. I felt at home being a GreenBay fan all my life and seeing all the memorabilia around the brewery. With having 4 people in the brewery and my girlfriend and I being 2 of the people, I have a hard time understanding why (when we’re at the couch away from the bar (the other couple was on the other side of the bar)) I was asked to watch the NHL playoff hockey game in silence, and to mute the TV while the volume was barely audible. I was not disrupting anybody by blaring the TV or anything. My girlfriend and i decided to leave so that we could watch the game without feeling uncomfortable or as if we were being a disturbance. I would have spent much more money on beers if I wasn’t forced to sit on a couch and watch playoff hockey in silence. You wouldn’t watch a GreenBay game in silence just as I...
Read moreMy mom and I were passing through from Birmingham on an ancestry trip. I saw Pourworks on the untappd app and thought it would be a nice place to try a few local Raleigh beers at once instead of choosing a single brewery. We had such a great time! Our bartender (I have already, regretfully, forgotten her name, but she was an angel) was great, and quick to make a delicious recommendation. The other patrons were SO friendly and we felt very welcome. If I lived in Raleigh, I would definitely be a regular. I hope to be back someday, and I'll definitely tell my friends as they travel. Thanks for a...
