This is by far the best place to buy wine in Raleigh. A great staff will guide you to the wines best suited for your taste.
No wine snobbery here, although they can put on the airs if you want them to. The staff will make you feel comfortable to ask any question you may have been embarrassed to ask elsewhere. And they know their wine.
Try something great in a resturant or at a friends? Take a picture, bring it to Seaboard and the staff will direct you to something comparable or better, usually at a better price. Want a nice champagne for a party, tell them your taste, and they’ll show you te best value for what you want.
The staff and the owner, Doug, are committed to selling you what you need, not the most expensive bottle in the store. The result is lots of long term satisfied customers like me, who know they will never be steered wrong. Great selection of Austrian wines along with the usual French, Italian American, etc. but ask the staff about their Portuguese or Austrian selections to try something new. You will not be disappointed. Or just go in and talk to people about wine.
You might find a cheaper bottle somewhere else, but at Seaboard you’ll actually find what you want and it will have been stored properly. No bad wine in the shop. Easy to park, and next to a nice resturant Taste which is worth a try.

Read moreWe found the wine warehouse online and decided to stop for a look around and a glass of wine.
The location seemed ideal for this establishment, ample parking, outdoor seating and a restaurant next door.
They have wine from all over the country, their selection would give total wine a run for their money. I was very impressed with the vast selection as well as the knowledge of those working there. Unfortunately they did not sell wine from the corner of country I was inquiring about but I did find a petit sirah with the help of the wonderful gentlemen I was talking with.
They do have a very good wine menu by the glass or they also serve flights. We did state a few to pick a winner and stayed for a glass outside at the table to enjoy the cool evening. They apparently host tastings as well as classes there also, I was very impressed and happy to find a place I will go to when the need to find something specific...
Read moreThis place offers a great selection of wines, and you can purchase flights or bottles with a $10 corkage fee to enjoy on-site. However, during my visit today, the featured wine flight for $20 was quite disappointing—I couldn't even finish a glass. The worst part was when I ordered a bottle of wine and requested it to be chilled; I waited and waited, and no one acknowledged that it was forgotten. I finally gave up on waiting for it and after settling my bill, I left feeling quite dissatisfied. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. My first visit had a bartender who genuinely cared, but the two staff members working today seemed to lack any understanding of...
