Decided to give this place a try this morning and i’m so glad i did!! The place is very unassuming from the outside as it is right next to a gas station, but the inside was very quaint in my opinion and was kept very clean. The gentleman who i assumed was the owner was cooking, and both him and another woman were taking orders, as well as running food and drinks, and they both did it all with a smile on their face.
The menu options are nothing fancy, just traditional breakfast items and lunch sandwiches, but sometimes the basics are just what you need on a saturday morning. The portion sizes were just right, not too much and not too little.
I got the Reuben from the lunch side of the menu and it was everything a reuben should be. The thousand island came separately so you could add as much as you wanted which i appreciated. The sweet tea was also delicious.
My partner got the pancake combo. the pancakes were fluffy and the eggs and sausage were all cooked perfectly.
Our meal only ended up around 20$ but we made sure to leave a good tip(and you should too) for all the hard work the owners are doing. I highly recommend this little diner and I will absolutely be...
Read moreI have to admit I didn't expect much. I mean the place is in a building with a gas station! But the reviews were good and it was convenient to where I wanted to meet my friend so I gave it a try.
I am so glad I did! Great service, great food. A true diner-style experience. Everything was prepared fresh and was delicious. My one complaint is that I would have liked it if the coffee was a little stronger. But my eggs were perfect, and everything was good. The owner was very friendly when he greeted me and I could tell there were several regulars who came in, based on his jovial "welcome back, [name]" called out from the grill where he was busy cooking. The place was very clean, and no one wore gloves but things seemed pretty sanitary.
Some other commenters indicated that the owner is racist, so I watched for it. I can report that there were several black patrons who came in, and he was just as friendly to them as he was to me. Not to discount others' experiences, but I didn't witness anything bad.
I'll go back the next time I am meeting someone over that way. You can't beat it for good cheap(!) food with great service in a...
Read moreThey’re clueless when it comes to making French toast, my recommendation (adjust as you see fit)
Whenever I see someone cooking French toast , they use like two eggs for 4 pieces of toast and they just quickly dunk the bread in the egg, flip, and then put it straight in the (non-stick 🤮) pan. This is INCORRECT.
Here’s how you make french toast so that it is not only delicious but a legit superfood which kids cannot turn down.
Crack two eggs per piece of toast you’re making (trust me) into the eggs you mix in a full cap of vanilla extract, dash of cinnamon, a big pinch of redmond’s salt (or quality equivalent) and a big glug of raw milk.
Mix until completely blended.
Place your thickly cut sourdough bread into a large glass baking tray with the egg mixture and let it soak for at LEAST ten minutes. This will ensure there is no dry bread layer in the center of your French toast and every bit will be custardy all the way through.
Once the bread has soaked up all the egg mixture. Fry in olive oil on a cast iron pan on medium heat until cooked through.
Top with grass fed butter and raw honey or...
