Sushi Mon delivers on authentic for gourmet, artisanal cuisine that deserves 10 stars **
The interior design looks stylish, modern, and calming, which is quite unique with interesting and flattering decor. The interior is dimly lit, with a great calming ambience. There are big windows and table seatings by the windows, plus tables towards the back of the dining room. The sushi bar is spacious for a more intimate setting to see the chefs create their signature work of art.
Everything was nicely presented as the server described in detail what the dishes were. The server was very knowledgeable and answered my questions well. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and really tasty. Sushi Mon is a place to find unique items that you probably can’t experience elsewhere in town.
The food selections that I have tried at Sushi Mon was made with attention to detail as Chef Chris delivered it to a perfection!
We started with appetizers: •Calamari and baby octopus - thin battered with a slightly crunch consisted of spicy aioli •Fresh Oysters topped with salsa and chives
Sashimi and Sushi (innovative dishes from the top Chef): •Sashimi Plate, Chef’s top choices of imported fishes •Hokkaido Scallop Tiradito with asparagus, lemon grass lime, kataifi, ikura, and balsamic •Yellowtail Crudo in spicy lime, serrano, garlic chip and oil, drizzled with house speciality yuzu mango dressing •XO Tuna in truffle aioli, garlic chip, pink peppercorn, and chive
Sushi Mon’s signature XO Tuna’s broth was exceptional, balanced and flavorful with the clear noodles at the bottom. The portion was substantial but I didn’t want to stop eating because it was just that phenomenal. I was surprised by how good this was. Thank you Chef Chris for the recommendation on this dish!
The Yellowtail Crudo’s accompaniments of the yomamama berry enhanced the texture and the flavor that was sweet and tangy to cleanse your pallet. The radish slices were so thin, but full of tangy, sweet flavor and a subtle crunch from the garlic chips. The thin slices of mandarin oranges brought out the flavor of sweetness.
I will have to dine in again and try the other items on the menu and will sit at the sushi bar to enhance the experience again!

Read moreAfter an absolute two weeks of hell, I determined the best course of action would be to take my niece to Sushi. She is really smart and knows her Sushi, she asked if I wanted quality or quantity. I am old, I want quality, if I want more, they will bring it. We went to Sushi Mon. It is a very well appointed setting and pretty cozy really. The hostess gave us a choice of seating, bar or table. Bar of course, we want to see the action. The wait staff was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive but not intrusive. We started with the 24 hour pork belly and yellow tail crudo. The pork belly was to die for, tender, savory with delightful sweet sauce. My niece wanted to lick the plate clean of the sauce it was so good. The crudo, the presentation was a delight. It came covered with a bottle of smoke. The seranos were there but not over powering. I am pretty sure this fish happy with his ending too. For mains we had Nigiri Omakase, Kiss of Fire, and Unagi roll. The Nigiri Omakase came with mother's miso, this is what all miso would be like if our mother's loved us, it almost made me believe. The rest of the Nigiri Omakase was amazing, a wonderful sampling! I think the favs were the shrimp and hand rolls. The Kiss of Fire made me reminisce of Katia and Maurice Krafft, it was probably worth being on Mount Unzen those years ago. Eel roll, you cannot go wrong! We finished with a chocolate mouse cake and a Carmel popcorn ice cream cake orgy thing. My niece got a bit over excited when the popcorn orgy appeared, she has a THING for corn and being ruled by the moon, she threw her spoon on the floor. I was able to pilfer one popcorn, my niece was not fully on her game or I would have been bloodied for my theft. In addition to recovering from two weeks of hell, she was having corngasms in her mouth, enough to knock anyone off their game methinks. Needless to say it was incredible. When we left my niece said she was going to sell her house and move to a trailer so she can eat...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of going to Sushi Mon. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I called to see if we would be able to be served and they set proper expectations stating all of the current tables were full and that it takes about an hour plus for diners to enjoy their meal. Luckily I was about an hour away. When we arrived the hostess that greeted us was very kind with a beautiful and welcoming smile. She again except proper expectations and said we would have a short wait. We ask if we could order drinks, she said we could and so we ordered some drinks while we waited. Please note, the bar is for dining so do not expect to have a pre drink at the bar. Luckily there is seating outside the restaurant and plenty of standing room. The restaurant is in a complex of a mix of office buildings, retail and restaurants. The "outside" seating is actually not outside but inside a lobby area. We enjoyed our drinks and waited about 10 to 15 minutes and we're seated. Our server almost immediately approached us and ask if we were okay on drinks or if we wanted anything additionally. We did order another round of drinks. We reviewed the menu while we waited for him to return and during that time we saw so many delicious looking items come out our excitement grew. When the server came back he was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided many recommendations. We ordered seaweed salad and the rock salt seared salmon as an appetizer and place the rest of our order which included in an Unagi Roll and unfortunately two other rolls I can't remember the name of. Our appetizers came out quickly and they were exquisite. Not long after we finished our appetizers our sushi came out and it was incredible. The texture is an individual taste each bite or spectacular. The atmosphere was not quiet nor loud but easy conversational. It is not cheap and I would not expect it to be.This restaurant deserves its...
